Note that this area is only available with the Frozen Wilds DLC.
Unlike other Tallnecks, this one does not emit a signal and will only appear as an icon on the top bar of your screen as you're exploring along the river. If you head north from the Banuk Camp, you'll find a large open area near some Daemonic Scrappers.
As mentioned, this Tallneck does not emit a signal. This is because it has been toppled over and is currently being scavenged on by other machines.
Enemy Type | Quantity |
---|---|
Daemonic Scrapper | 9 |
Glinthawks | 5 |
Redeye Watcher | 3 |
Scorcher | 1 |
Note that while these machines are in the immediate area, there are still groups that roam just outside of it such as Daemonic Scrappers and Glinthawks
Crouch in the grass to get a view of the Scrapper pile, there should be a Scrapper in the vicinity. Aim for the component on their backs to take them out quickly, allowing the others to come closer before taking them out as well. This area also gives you a view of the Glinthawks on the Tallneck's back.
Make your way westward to take out any remaining Scrappers, using the rocks as cover.
There are 2 Glinthawks scavenging on the Tallneck. Once you've finished clearing the Scrappers, you can move foward towards the rock ledges and grass to place some well aimed shots at the Glinthawks. If they manage to catch sight of you, use the grass to wait for them to calm down or take them out with arrows.
To the north of the last Tallneck part is a patch of grass that gives a great view of the 3 Scrappers that roam this area. You can easily take out the lone Scrapper that roams further away, but the 2 by the Scrapper pile will need to be taken out simultaneously or in rapid succession. Using a sling or tripcaster can be useful to protect you.
Once they've been taken dowm, follow the marker or seek the Scrapper with a purple marker. Looting this Scraper will give you the Array.
Coming from the Northeastern Campfire, you'll encounter another Redeye Watcher. Take it out quickly as there aren't many places to hide in this area. Head down the mountain and you'll appoach an area with grass by a cave entrance. There's a Scorcher and Scrapper here.
Lure the Scorcher out first to take it down before headiing into the cave to shoot down the Scrapper. Once it's destroyed, loot it to recieve the Stabilzer!
Found at the Northern section of the map, the first machines tp greet you are 2 Redeye Watchers, take them out stealthily to proceed forward. Once they're down, carefully make your way forward, towards the cliff face and climb up. There are 3 Glinthawks around the scrapper pile. Once you're nearby they may notice you, so use weapons like a sling to hit them all with Fire or turn them against each other with Corruption.
Once you're all destroyed, seek the Glinthawk with a purple marker or follow the questmarker. Looting it will give you the Actuator part you need.
Return each part to their specific locations as shown below or by following the quest markers. Once all parts are in, return to the Tallneck's head to override it and bring it back to life!

Stabilizer |
Actuator |
Near the area the Tallneck had just left is a large rock that you can quickly clamber up to hop onto the Tallneck! You can also attempt the other large rock on the other end of the field, but it would take a bit more time to do so.
When the Tallneck comes near, make a run for it and hop on! Just remember that climbable spots are usually marked in yellow, or can be highlighted using your Focus!
Now that the worst is over, step forward and use your spear to override the Tallneck. This will reveal a chunk of the map, along with some interesting details like machine sites!
