Selkies are able to charge and release Focus Attacks faster than any other class. Their Focus Attack Range is also formidable, and they receive the benefit of an exclusive Equipment item, Winged Belt, which allows them to further increase it.

Although their Defense stat itself is low, when Selkies use the “Defend” action from the menu, they will do a somersault, and when they are in the air, they are completely invulnerable to damage,

Aim Focus Attacks from a distance

More than anything else, Selkies are capable with Focus Attacks. Not only can they use them quickly and over a wide area, but they also have the benefit of ranged Focus Attacks which allow them to remain in place. This allows Selkies to take advantage of their Focus Attacks to stand at a distance and fire off powerful attacks at foes.

The higher the Affinity Value, the greater the effect will be. Eating a food with a higher Affinity Value will heal a higher amount of HP and provide a boost to stats, while eating a food with a low value with heal less HP and inflict a statistical penalty. As Selkies are hunter-gatherers, they love Meat and Fish, so eat these to get a boost to Strength.

Both Selkie DLC weapons are incredibly strong. However, as they don't posess the much better focus attack, Meteor Blast, we recommend the Dreamcatcher instead. This all comes down to player preference, of course, and like the other DLC weapons can help you power through the main game.
