The Flagship Monster of Monster Hunter Wilds

MH Wilds Cover

The Arkveld is featured in the cover art of Monster Hunter Wilds, making it the game's flagship monster. This likely means that a huge part of the game's story will be dedicated to hunting the Arkveld down and figuring out how a previously thought extinct monster is alive.

Has Chain-Like Appendages

The Arkveld has chain-like appendages attached to its wings that it uses to attack. This increases the range of the Arkveld's attacks, making your positioning even more important when fighting the monster.

It is currently unknown whether the appendages can be broken or cut off.

Similar To Barioth and Tigrex

Arkveld Barioth Tigrex

Based on currently available videos and images, the physique of the Arkveld resembles that of the Barioth and Tigrex, monsters from previous Monster Hunter games.

Because of this, it is likely that the Arkveld has similar attack patterns to the two, such as charges, lunges, and swipe attacks with it arms and tail.
