Of all the top guilds in World 2, Teio is the strongest with more than 11 billion BP, all the positions in World 2's Guild Battle mode, and a nearly full roster of members.

Game8 spoke with its guild master, Alive2470, about their tips for an optimal start for beginners, some of the game's more hidden aspects when it comes to the SPD stat, and what to look at when picking a character to pull on the game's banners for.

Teio's Low Spender PvE Tier List

Teio

If there is a unit that any beginning player should ultimately aim for, Teio said that it was an Fia, one of the strongest units in the game with her ramping damage and attrition abilities, awakened to LR rarity.

But right after her, witches like Merlyn and Cordie, as well as limited SR units like Sivi should be prioritized, especially Cordie.

From A to C-tier, witches are arranged in usefulness and viability such as Mimi (who is known for her Resonance ability), Primavera (directional attacker that can inflict Faint on enemies in front of her), and Soltina (a tank that can also inflict Faint and Sleep on enemies).

Then there are the witches that only have one use and one use only, such as Illya's R-rarity version and her two-turn stun, and witches that are not viable for low-spenders and F2P units such as Elfriede, Illya's God's Curse version, and Tainted Iris, who all require some investment to be useful for players.

The Most Optimal Start

When asked what they would say to themselves back when they started out in MementoMori, Alive2470 said that players should first reroll until they have two copies of Cordie and only invest resources in her from the start. "Buy key packs for better PMDB (PM DEF Break), only invest in Cordie, push (Quest) 11-28 ASAP, and start working on LR5 Cordie."

Unless you have a VIP Level of 12, players will only be able to unlock the Invocation of Chance gacha banner once they clear Quest 11-28. Considered one of the best banners in the game, it gives out EXP Orbs and Kindling Orbs, and even lets you choose what specific character you want to pull for (usually all the non-limited SRs in the standard pool and what limited SR character is on the current Prayer of the Fleeting banner at the time).

Awakening a character, meanwhile, is important because it raises both that character's max level and their base stats.

"My early game was so atrocious that the only way I managed to resurrect my account was with Achievement Packs. I wasted so many resources on useless things," Alive2470 said. "Biggest regret is wasting so, so many gems on (Prayer of the) Fleeting banners. I'd also tell myself to only by PMDB and Speed (runes). I also didn't know anything about how gear worked, so I was rocking full SR gear for such a long time and didn't even have a Unique Weapon. At least my favorite character was Cordie, so it could have been worse."

Aside from Cordie, players should also be on the lookout for any good limited SR witches that could act as good supports for her in the team. "Sivi, Matilda, and Fia are the main ones, although Sivi is now in Invocation of The Stars' Guidance (banner). From Invocation of The Stars' Guidance, I'd go for Luke, Sivi, and Rusalka."

The Invocation of The Stars' Guidance gacha banner is similar to the Invocation of Chance, with the exception that it focuses more on giving out gear upgrade materials rather than character update materials, as well as having a more limited roster of available units to pull for.

A Note on Passive Abilities, SPD, and RNG

Since MementoMori came out in 2022, Alive2470 said that the game had a lot of mechanics that they and other players slowly found out over time. Though most of them have already been explained in-game, there are still some relatively obscure aspects such as randomness/RNG with a character's SPD stat. A witch that has a higher SPD stat than another unit has a higher probability of moving before that unit, but not a solid chance of doing so.

"Now that much should be common knowledge this far into the game, but there's another mechanic that uses speed RNG that is a bit more obscure," Alive2470 said. "Passive abilities are also affected by speed RNG. This isn't as relevant as when it was discovered, but you can still get away with some cheeky skill interactions."

As an example, Alive2470 pointed out ATK buffs and shields that scale based on a witch's ATK stat. "Units like Summer Cordie and Matilda can passive increase another unit's ATK. This means, by making them fast, you can use them with Rean, Stella, or Asahi for an even bigger shield."

Reasons To Pull for a Character?

When asked about how they decide what new characters to pull, Teio's guild master only had two criteria: If it was a good unit and they would be "throwing" the game if they didn't pull for them, and if they liked the character in question.

"In this (first) case, Sivi, Luke, Rusalka for characters at SR (rarity), and Fia for an LR," Alive2470 said. "The second point is why I spent an entire year to LR Chiffon. 100% worth it even if it took me 500+ pulls."

Teio: A Guild Revived

"I wasn't there when the OG Teio started," Alive2470 said when asked about how their guild came to be. "From what I heard after I joined, the guild was made by a group of friends from Sinoalice. Back then, the two big guilds were Teio and MewMewCafe."

The guild master then added that the guild disbanded in 2023, prompting a move to MewMewCafe, where Alive2470 got elected as GM. "Then around first anniversary, we decided to move back into Teio coz we thought it'd be funny, and that's how we came full circle."

At present, the guild dominates World 2's Guild Battle map, though the Teio GM wished that rival guilds put up more of a fight.

"They are kinda unhappy about the map domination which yeah, I can understand. But the issue is that they don't even try to put up a fight," they said. "We repeatedly told them that if they unify, they could put up a fight but they never did, and they kept slowly losing motivation and players. Now only a handful of one-man guilds try to attack us during war time.

"Honestly, W2 is in a bad spot. We barely get new players, and the new players we get only last a week. My guild is losing a player every one or two months. It's just not sustainable, and sadly new players have no incentive to play W2. It's an old world, so bad PvP rewards, and it isn't even W1 so players can't even join on accident."

Still, if any new players find themselves in W2, Alive2470 says Teio's doors are open. "Any active player interested is welcome to DM me, no matter the strength. I can offer guidance and a lot of guild income," the Teio GM said. "All I ask for is communication and some effort to become stronger."
