Maid Cafe is one of the top five strongest guilds in MementoMori's World 7. Game8 spoke to its guild master, HBJ, about their thoughts on the game's guild system, things their guild learned to do in guild battles, as well as tips for newcomers.

Guild Battle Strategies

For any new guilds who may want to participate in guild battles to win resources from churches and other buildings on the map, they may want to know what they are getting into first. When asked what part of MementoMori they found was poorly explained, HBJ said the game's tutorial did not explain the strategies needed to win.

"It's difficult to defend a freshly captured base and it's almost impossible for us to hold onto it if someone counters it within the time limit," they said.

As a result, HBJ said, other guilds simply wait for the final 15 minutes in Guild Battle before capturing any kind of spots for themselves. This could be a strategy that other guilds can use, especially for those on newer worlds.

Another thing HBJ says guilds should pay attention to is the concept of Guild Battle Debuffs - which debuff a party's ATK and DEF depending on how many battles they've already won. Weaker guilds may want to avoid using their most powerful units at the onset of guild battle to avoid having them riddled with debuffs by the later stages and risk being defeated.

Pull From Invocation of the Seraph’s Prophecy As Early as Possible

One of the gacha banners HBJ said beginners should keep track of is the Invocation of the Seraph's Prophecy. This invoke banner offers Relics that are traded at the Shop for parts of Michael Gear - one of the most powerful gear sets in the game.

HBJ called the banner "A huge time-gated bottleneck for free-to-play players in the late game," which is why they suggest that they should pull from it as early as possible to accumulate Relics. The guild master also mentioned Tree of Life's Dews, which are resources you will need in the late game to raise the rarity of your witch's gear.

Other Improvements for MementoMori's Guild System

At the time of the interview in late May, World 7's guild map was dominated mostly by one guild. When asked what MementoMori could improve to prevent competition between guilds from getting too stagnant, HBJ said new players could be funneled into existing worlds instead of new ones to increase World 7's population and potentially widen the recruiting pool for guilds.

"Allowing guild leaders to see large lists of active players would be beneficial in the Guild invitation process," HBJ said, referring to the game's Guild Invite system, as another way to recruit more players. "This would allow us to become stronger in numbers, which is essential for Guild Battle."

One of the biggest things HBJ said would help, however, was a more in-depth tutorial for how the Guild Battle system works. "Learning the system came with a learning curve. A solid in-game tutorial could make Guild Battles more accessible for other Guild Leaders to want to attempt it."
