DarkAge is one of the strongest guilds in World 10, often staying within the top 5 guilds and being open to all prospective members. Game8 spoke with its guildmaster, Vetanethel, about their tips for newcomers to the game as well as their thoughts on the game.

Prioritize Character Synergy Over Soul Affinity

When beginners start playing MementoMori, they can get confused about whether or not they should focus on Soul Affinity when it comes to forming their own teams. Vetanethel also had this problem.

"I was too attached to making a Crimson characters build," they said. "It was a mistake."

Even though it's easy to form teams consisting of characters from only one soul type, players should also consider whether they work well together in the first place. The most common example of this is putting Merlyn (an Emerald soul witch) and Florence (an Azure soul witch) in the same team.

Even though they are not of the same Soul type, Florence and Merlyn still work well together because of their skills since the latter can buff the CRIT of the former, who is then able to make more attacks the more Critical Hits they make.

Soul Bonuses and When to Use Them

Battle Points (BP) Aren't Everything

When asked about what part of MementoMori the game itself did not explain well, Vetanethel says that they found the game's Battle Points system as an imprecise way of quantifying a player's power.

"Its effectiveness varies too much to be able to really mean something," they said, before noting that while his team had 180 million total BP, it had been defeated before by other teams who only had around 130 million BP. "Maybe the game should clarify that more as a reference."

The game's Battle Points system is a good indication of how strong your team is, but it is not the end-all, be-all either. Team synergy and, to a lesser degree, soul bonuses are also important in deciding what witches you should put together in your team, even if the resulting party does not yield a high BP.

DarkAge: A Chill Community

DarkAge's advertisement says, "Come and go like the wind!" Vetanethel more or less attests to the truthfulness of this claim. *"We have a chill community, (with) almost no conflict going on," they said. "We don't expect our members to be powerful or very participative. Everyone can come and go. That's mostly our promise."

With more than a few vacant slots and an open recruitment policy, those who want to join a more passive and chill guild in World 10 won't go wrong with joining DarkAge.
