Arena Season 125 Elite Meta Analysis

Arena Season 125 Elite Meta Analysis Highlights

Red Qubeley Rules The Meta

[M0489] Qubeley

Red Qubeley inflicts an AoE Unavoidable and Stun debuff on all enemies, preventing enemies from evading attacks. It also prevents Absolute Evade from being inflicted on the Qubeley's allied Raid units.

This mobile suit is incredibly durable, and is also capable of dealing great damage thanks to its damage multipliers and defensive buffs that it gets when attacking or defending against debuffed enemies.

Because of its great damage, defense, and evasion-countering abilities, Red Qubeley debuts right at the top of the meta.

Qubeley (Red) Best Builds and Teams

Dominated by the ZZ HGC/Phenex Duo

Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - ZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) IconZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Phenex (NT-D/NT Version) IconPhenex (NT-D/NT Version)

The ZZ HGC and Support Phenex duo is an extremely popular and effective defensive tandem in the game.

The ZZ HGC is already hard to take down on its own due to its massive damage reduction buffs and its strong AoE EX skill. If paired with the Phenex's healing, ability to revive Green units, and ability to grant Absolute Evade to all allies, they become a near-unkillable threat.

This duo is extremely difficult to deal with, to the point that the meta has shifted to become a sort of battle of attrition where players field in very durable units with the intent of winning via having more HP once the battle timer expires.

ZZ HGC+Phenex and Great Zeong+Methuss Comparison

Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - ZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) IconZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) VS Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Great Zeong IconGreat Zeong
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Phenex (NT-D/NT Version) IconPhenex (NT-D/NT Version) Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Methuss (UR) IconMethuss (UR)

The Great Zeong and the Methuss are like the Blue-type version of the ZZ HGC/Phenex duo. Unfortunately for the Blue-types, both of them are inferior to their Green-type counterparts.

The Great Zeong would have been great if it weren’t for how popular and impactful the Red Qubeley is in Arena. Since the Great Zeong’s biggest weakness is getting inflicted with debuffs, it is naturally countered by the Red Qubeley despite the former’s type advantage over the latter. This weakness is not something the ZZ Gundam comes with.

The Methuss, on the other hand, offers similar healing and resurrection abilities as the Support Phenex, but lacks the other impactful buffs the latter has to offer, such as granting the entire team Absolute Evade and granting Stealth to Bombardment and Sniper allies.

A Blue-type team comp also struggles when pitted against the very popular ZZ HGC, since the HGC’s hard-hitting AoE EX skill can obliterate the Methuss and other Blue-types.

Although promising on paper, a Blue-type team comp like this has too many exploitable weaknesses in the current meta to consistently earn wins in Arena.

Re-GZID Is the New Gyan

[M0368] Re-GZID
PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - SS (Support) Icon
Gundam UCE - SS Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Support Icon Support Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Blue ImageBlue

The Re-GZID is essentially like an upgraded version of the Gyan. Both MSs grant the Target Focus stat on their allied Armored units, keeping aggro away from their other allies.

Unfortunately for the Gyan, that is where the similarities end. The Gyan offers beam damage reduction buffs for allied Armored units, whereas the Re-GZID offers a general damage reduction buff to all allies regardless of category, which covers all forms of damage and not just beam.

On top of all that, the Re-GZID also offers the entire team damage buffs and heals, damage cap, and accuracy buffs are also in store for its allies buffed with Bullseye and Assault. Finally, it is also significantly harder to take down, as it comes with EX damage reduction and evasion.

Unicorn HML Is Still a Powerhouse

PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - SS (Generic) Icon
Gundam UCE - SS Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Generic Icon Generic Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Red ImageRed

The Unicorn HML has continued to be one of the most effective mobile suits in the game thanks to its absurdly high EX damage output and tough defense.

Because it is an EX damage-oriented mobile suit, it has no problem battling against mobile suits with defensive statuses like Absolute Evade and Perfect Guard.

Its extremely high damage reduction buffs also allow it to keep thriving in a meta that has shifted to favoring tanks and other durable units.

One major downside to the Unicorn HML is that it is a mobile suit dependent on being upgraded to Potential Lv. 5, and anything below will yield sub-optimal performance.

Nu LFF Thrives in the Meta

PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - SS (Sniper) Icon
Gundam UCE - SS Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Sniper Icon Sniper Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Red ImageRed

The Nu LFF performs great in today's meta, as it is a mobile suit that benefits from huge damage and defensive buffs based on how many allied mobile suits are still standing.

Because today's mobile suits are extremely durable, the Nu LFF can count on its allies to stay alive, which in turn, lengthens the amount of time it can spend dealing damage with its scaling buffs maxed out.

The Rise of Hambrabi

[M0493] Hambrabi
PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - S (Raid) Icon
Gundam UCE - S Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Raid Icon Raid Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Red ImageRed

The Hambrabi is an anti-Gundam and anti-Newtype mobile suit that uses its fast charging EX skill to stun enemies and deal significant damage. It gains Bullseye against stunned enemies, and Absolute Evade when attacked by Bullseye. Its signature pilot can also make the mobile suit aggro onto Gundam-Types, wasting no time aggroing onto units it does not counter.

It has great synergy with the Red Qubeley, as they are both DPS units that can stun enemies, and also benefit from buffs when attacking stunned targets.

Expect this mobile suit to be a solid damage contributor in a PvP setting.

B2-Packs Still Packs a Punch

The Narrative Gundam B2-Packs has been a reliable unit since its release, and that is still the case today.

It features a kit with commendable durability and serious damage. In particular, high EX damage output plays a central role in its offensive system. This is perfect for a meta where players face Absolute Evade and Perfect Guard units on a daily basis, since EX skills bypass these defensive statuses.

B2-Packs is also excellent at taking out enemy Red-type units. Because two of the game's best damage threats are Red-types, a strong Blue-type like the B2-Packs slots in well on any competitive Arena team.

Alex (Chobham Armor) Counters Strong EX Users

PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - S (Armored) Icon
Gundam UCE - SS Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Armored Icon Armored Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Purple ImagePurple

The Alex (Chobham Armor) has consistently been an exceptional tank, since being able to reflect EX skill damage works incredibly well in an Arena meta where EX damage is the most impactful.

It is also quite durable with strong damage reduction buffs and a self-heal. This, paired with what was discussed above, makes it a perfect fit for today's meta.

Turn Off Automatic EX Casting Against Alex (Chobham Armor)

One extremely useful tip that many players should use against enemy teams with the Alex (Chobham Armor) is to manually use its EX skill in battle. This allows players to prevent their EX-oriented DPS units from dealing unnecessary damage to themselves.

This strategy requires players to pay attention to their matches, specifically which units are attacking which. Players only really need to hold their EX skills against the Alex's current matchup, so spam away with the mobile suits engaged in combat with the Alex's teammates.

Players might find this difficult to execute effectively, especially since plenty of mobile suits can use their EX skills at a rapid rate. To counteract this, players should simply slow down their game to normal speed in order to use EX skills more effectively.

Char's Z'Gok Is Situationally Great

PvE Rank PvP Rank
Gundam UCE - S (Support) Icon
Gundam UCE - S Icon
Rarity Category Type
UR MementoMori - Support Icon Support Mobile Suit Gundam UC Engage- Yellow ImageYellow

Use Char's Z'Gok against key Gundam-Type enemy units. This support is an excellent mobile suit against key Gundam-Type units as it draws aggro toward them, making them take more damage. These abilities are useful against the Crossover UCE Gundams that are currently on top of the current meta.

Many Other Units Are Still Strong Contenders

Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Victory 2 Assault Buster Cannon Gundam IconVictory 2 Assault Buster Cannon Gundam Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Sinanju Stein (NT Version) IconSinanju Stein (NT Version) Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Crossbone Gundam X3 IconCrossbone Gundam X3
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - The-O (Purple) IconThe-O (Purple) Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Gyan IconGyan Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Gundam F91 (Full Power) IconGundam F91 (Full Power)

All of these mobile suits above can make a case for why they should be included on Arena teams.

The V2 ABC has quickly risen in popularity due to its AoE damage and healing. More importantly, it is the best crit-oriented DPS unit, thanks to its ability to access the Extracritical status.

The Red Sinanju Stein is best known for its ability to inflict Provoke on enemy Generic units, potentially eliminating enemy powerhouses like the Unicorn HML and the B2-Packs early. This allows players to completely bypass any set defenses an enemy player has and ruin their defensive scheme entirely.

While the Crossbone Gundam X3 lacks damage, its incredible durability has made it a good complementary piece meant to draw aggro away from the Unicorn Gundam HML, given that they are both Red-type units.

The-O (Purple) and the Gundam F91 (Full Power) are matchup nightmares that need no introduction. These two can singlehandedly win games against teams without the means to counter Perfect Guard + guard rate and Absolute Evade + Evasion. However, both of these mobile suits' value has depreciated due to the rise of powerful mobile suits with kits suited to counter these matchup-dependent units.

How To Beat the Arena Meta

Deploy Counterpicks and Outlast Opponents

The-O

Although the meta has shifted recently, the way to beat the meta stays the same. Players need to have their own set of meta units discussed above. A player's success in Arena is dependent on their ability to take out key enemy units while keeping their own units alive.

Players need to make sure they use the right units for the job. Select counterpicks against Absolute Evade and Perfect Guard, while also preparing for the enemy team's powerful gimmicks like Alex (Chobham Armor).

Remember that when encountering a Char's Z'Gok on the enemy team, players should try to position their squishy Gundam-Type units behind their Armored ones to reduce their chances of drawing aggro. Not preparing for a Char's Z'Gok can lead to a loss in an otherwise winnable match.

Inversely, use Char's Z'Gok against teams with powerful Gundam-Type units.

Best Arena Meta Team

Pair the ZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) and Phenex (NT-D/NT Version) With Unicorn HML and Others

These are some of the best units players can use in the Arena at present. All these units either deal ridiculously serious damage, are extremely durable, offer great utility, or a combination of these three.

Do take note that players will need tons of resources and effort to invest in their MSs (and their Sub MSs) heavily. Assuming that players have the right investments in their units and they play all six Arena games daily, this team should help players rise up the Elite Arena rankings.

Should a player lack any of these units, they should look to field in any of the units mentioned in the meta analysis section above, or from our SS and S-tier picks in our PvP Tier List.

Mobile Suit Details
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Unicorn Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher) Icon[M0449] Unicorn Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher) • As with most other teams in Elite Arena, the Unicorn Gundam (Hyper Mega Launcher) will be the ace unit of this team thanks to its potent defense and its strong EX spamming capabilities.
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Alex (Chobham Armor) Icon[M0431] Alex (Chobham Armor) • The Alex has become one of the best Armored units thanks to its ability to reflect EX skill damage. This makes it an excellent counter to today's strongest DPS units that rely on EX skills to deal damage.
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - ZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) Icon[M0454] ZZ Gundam (Hyper Giga Cannon) • Reduces incoming damage by a very high amount.
• Debuffs its own damage reduction with each attack it takes. At max debuff stacks, this MS will still be tough to take down.
• High damage EX skill hits all enemies for 934% ATK twice
• EX skill charges quickly when taking damage from multiple attackers.
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Phenex (NT-D/NT Version) Icon[M0459] Phenex (NT-D/NT Version) • The Phenex is like the upgraded version of the Methuss as it gives Green-type units potent heals, buffs to damage cap, and damage. It can also revive fallen Green-type allies.
• Grants Sniper and Bombardment units Stealth for as long as they are alive, protecting them from any unwanted aggro.
• Heals all allies and grants them Absolute Evade.
• Makes the ZZ Gundam HCG even harder to deal with.
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Crossbone Gundam X3 Icon[M0426] Crossbone Gundam X3 • While it lacks damage, the Crossbone's tough defenses will protect the Unicorn from any unwanted aggro when placed in front of it, given that both are Red-type units. The Crossbone is also a Gundam-Type, so it will still keep the Unicorn safe from a team with Char's Z'Gok or Hambrabi.
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage - Char[M0089] Char's Z'Gok • Char's Z'Gok works to draw aggro towards enemy Gundam-Type units and forces them to take increased damage. Against teams that do not have key Gundam-Type units, replace Char's Z'Gok with other SS-tier mobile suits.
