The Assault Status is one of four major status effects currently defining the meta of Gundam UC Engage. It cancels out another powerful status effect, Perfect Guard, which turns the unit that has access to it into a potent counter versus some of the game's most popular units.

A unit with the Assault Status in battle will find that its attacks cannot be guarded against, no matter how high the enemy's guard rate is. It will also have higher proximity and ranged damage depending on how high its accuracy is.

Even if the enemy unit happens to have the Perfect Guard buff (which ensures every attack the unit receives will be guarded against regardless of stats), the unit with Assault Status's attacks will be determined by two things.

These are the enemy unit's base guard rate and whether or not the unit with Assault Status has a high CRIT Rate. Critical Attacks made by a unit with Assault status will not be guarded against, giving high-CRIT units a near-perfect chance to land hits on the enemy.

Which Units Have Assault Status?

Few Units Have Access to the Assault Status

As of this writing, only four units in Gundam UC Engage have access to the Assault Status: The Nu Gundam (Double Fin Funnels), the Theta Plus (Sniper), the Quinn Mantha, and the White Rider.

Three of these (The Nu Gundam DFF, Theta Plus, and Quin Mantha) are key units in the current meta, partly because of their access to the Assault Status.

The-O (Purple), nicknamed the "Purple-O" by the community, is the prime example of a unit that can be countered by the Assault status coupled with CRIT rate buffs (to ensure that every attack makes its mark).

Currently, it enjoys a comfortable position in the meta due to its ability to not only have Perfect Guard, but charge its EX gauge via guarding. This means that every attack it guards against charges its EX skill, allowing The-O to spam it and deal high amounts of damage.

So, the Assault Status, paired with CRIT Rate buffs to ensure hits, can make short work of The-O. This extends to any other unit that relies on Perfect Guard to deal damage.

This is why units that have access to Assault Status are highly valuable and should be pulled when a new banner for them has been released, or if they have somehow been rerun.
