High Hit-Count Is Key

In Combat Power Augmentation Operation battles, mobile suits do not deal nearly as much damage as they normally do in other game modes.

Enemies in this mode take massively reduced damage from all attacks. They also have their evasion buffed. Damage buffs or buffs to critical rate become less useful.

Players are adviced to use mobile suits with weapons that have high hit counts (such as the mobile suits listed in the table above). This will increase their overall attack damage by raising the total number of their attacks, even if those attacks are individually weak.

Typically, Funnels and Machine Guns are weapons with high hit counts.

Have Mobile Suits at Custom Lv. 8

Mobile suits players plan to use in CPAO shold be at least Custom Level 8, which unlocks their Third Weapon. This should be enough to help players get the highest CPAO rank SSS.

If players do not have any upgrade materials to raise their MS's custom level, then Custom Tickets are a good alternative. Many events give them out as rewards, especially custom tickets for lower rarities like R and SR.

Because of how damage works in CPAO, many mobile suits becme useful despite being of lower rarity like SR or even R. The Guntank, for example, can land the highest number of hits in a single weapon rotation despite beng an SR-rarity unit.

What does matter, however, is the number of weapons they have.

Mobile suits with only two weapons usually have terrible weapon rotations and waste plenty of time just wandering in the battlefield instead of dealing damage. This is an issue plenty of R and SR-rarity units have, and is the reason why the only "meta" lower-rarity mobile suits all have three weapons.

Other useful low-rarity units include the Roswell Jegan, which is equipped with three weapons, one of which fires 10 shots at a time, while another hits for a total of 12 times. Another good unit is the SR Solari Zaku, which boasts 3 weapons, 2 of which are Zaku Machine Guns that each hit 10 times each time the Zaku pulls them out.

On the other hand, there is the Gundam (Cucuruz Doan's Island Version), which has just 2 weapons and each of these only hits twice. This is an example of a bad lower-rarity unit to use for CPAO.

Use Accuracy Modules

It is recommended that players give two SR-rarity AD-ASL-A modules to mobile suits they will use in CPAO to raise their accuracy. This is to compensate for the higher evasion rates enemies will hae in this mode.

For the same reason above, players are advised to pair their mobile suits with pilots that raise an MS's accuracy to maximize their hits.

For example, the Kshatriya is good to use in this game mode because of its high hit-count Funnels. But players should avoid using its signature pilot Marida Cruz, since she does not grant accuracy buffs to the Kshatriya.

A pilot with compatible accuracy buffs like ［C0189］Riddhe Marcenas should be used instead.

Other pilots known to give out accuracy buffs is Johnny Ridden, who gives accuracy buffs to Red-type units.
