Increasing the Potential Unleashed level of a mobile suit not only gives it a stat boost, but it also upgrades its EX skill.

The potential Unleashed level of a mobile suit can be raised by collecting blueprints of the mobile suit, which can be found from different sources depending on the mobile suit.

Even if a mobile suit's Potential Unleashed level can be increased five times, this does not mean the EX skill will be upgraded five times. For R and SR mobile suits, the first Potential Unleashed level only gives stat boosts, while for UR mobile suits, it gives a stat boost and unlocks their sub skill.

The next four upgrades to Potential Unleashed will be the ones that enhance the EX Skill. Besides that, the mobile suit will still receive stat boosts with these upgrades and, if it's UR rarity, an upgrade to its sub skill as well.

While limited to only four upgrades, Potential Unleashed significantly improves the quality of EX skills due to the enhancements the skills get to their damage, buffs, and other effects.

EX Skill Upgrade

The S Gundam, for example, has its EX skill's ATK Damage increased from 422% to 470% when upgrading its EX skill from level 2 to level 3. That's a 48% increase in ATK Damage for the skill. Furthermore, the Critical Rate buff the EX skill grants also gets upgraded from 40% to 44%.

It is important to remember that when upgrading EX skills, the increase in their values varies from mobile suit to mobile suit. Some have larger increases than others, while some have smaller increases.

When upgrading the Gundam Pixy(Early Development Type), for example, its EX skill's ATK Damage increases from 394% to 439%. This is a 45% increase. When compared to the S Gundam, it is clear that this mobile suit's EX skill receives a smaller increase to its ATK Damage. This means EX Skill upgrades are not uniform.

Use Modules That Boost EX Skills

Modules

Equipping modules can have varying effects on the mobile suit, depending on the specific module used. Some have effects like raising HP, increasing beam damage, or increasing projectile damage. Some of these effects will also enhance the EX skill.

Some of the modules that enhance EX skill usage are the EX Damage Enhancement Program, EX Booster II, and the EX Damage Control Program II. There are other modules that provide buffs to EX skill usage.

The buffs these modules give to EX skills vary. The EX Damage Enhancement Program gives a percentage increase to the EX skill damage dealt, depending on its rarity. Others, like the EX booster II enhance EX gauge recovery, allowing more frequent EX skill usage. Although for the EX booster II, it is important to note that it also decreases max HP by a percentage amount.

Make Use of Unit Enhancement

EX Gauge

A mobile suit's EX skill can be enhanced through Unit Enhancement as well.

This can be done by selecting the mobile suit's weapons in the Unit Enhancement screen and allotting resources into the EX gauge stat. This will cost Unit Enhancement Points and Weapon Chips.

By allotting Unit Enhancement Points and other Weapon Chips into this stat, the EX gauge gets boosted. This results in it charging faster when the mobile suit attacks, allowing more frequent EX skill use.
