When you are looking for SR units to round out your team by turning them into Grade 2 units, look for those with a full complement of weapons. Most SR units only have two weapons - a Main Weapon and an Additional Weapon.

But some have a Third Weapon just like UR units, giving them an extra chance to deal damage and charge their EX skill gauge quickly in battle - which maximizes their damage output since they get to use their EX skills quicker.

Among these units, the Zaku II Unidentified Type (Solari), Z'Gok E, Assault Marasai, Gundam Delta Ans, and the Kampfer High Mobility can dish out high damage, while still being accessible to new players.

Even among SR mobile suits, there are a precious few of them that not only have three weapons, but can replenish their EX gauges fast with their own inherent EX gauge recovery buffs.

The Gabthley Beta has its own built-in 37% EX gauge recovery buff, on top of its three weapons, while the newer Prototype Qubeley has its own 22% EX gauge recovery buff with an EX skill that can stun enemies and inflict them with accuracy and evasion debuffs (making it a great partner with high-accuracy UR mobile suits).

Certain SR units are worth upgrading to Grade 2 because they have skills that can complement a player's team until higher-rarity replacements are found.

The Zock can be a great early-game tank because of its self-healing abilities, while the GM (GR) is such a good healer that players still use it even in late-game content. Meanwhile, the Zssa has a 100% Critical Rate buff that it will keep as long as its HP stays at 100%.

As for the Rig Ring, it deals increased damage to enemies affected by the Stun, Jamming, Unavoidable, and Sustained Damage status effects. This makes it a good unit to pair up with debuff support units.

Why Grade Up SR Units

To Serve as Useful, Low-Budget Units While You Build Your MS Collection

At the start of playing Gundam UC Engage, it can be hard to get a team that is fully stocked with UR units. It is important to find suitable SR units to round out your team in the meantime and still get good results in both PvE and maybe even early-game PvP.

Even when a player gets a full team of UR units, Gears for SR units are easier to get for free than UR Gear, making it easier for players to Grade Up their SR units.

A Grade 2 SR unit can be just as powerful as an ungraded UR unit, which means they will retain their value until the other UR mobile suits have been built up into more powerful units.
