The latest iteration of Total War in September 2025 pits players against various Red-type Mobile Suits arranged in a 5x5 grid. Some of these mobile suits are easy to deal with as they are SR-rarity suits, but others such as the Gundam GP04, Gundam Full Armor, Xi Gundam, and others might prove more of a challenge to many players.
All in all, there are 25 teams to beat, but the catch here is that you can only use your unit once during the entire event. If you use a strong mobile suit in your first battle, and that mobile suit wins, you will not be allowed to use that mobile suit again in the next battle. So you will have to save your strongest units for the toughest battles, pair them with weaker allies, or just focus on taking out the weakest units (and miss out on sme of the rewards).
To earn rewards, you will have to beat the enemy mobile suits according to Bingo patterns. So, beat five enemy teams in a line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, to earn the event's rewards.

Though the enemies in this Total War iteration are Red-types, you do not necessarily need Blue-type mobile suits to beat them, even if they have a type advantage.
Because of the difficulty of the higher CP stages, you will want to use units that have durability and healing during the early and middle stages. This means using SR and R units like the Z'Gok, or some of the free Engage Gundam variants. If you're a veteran player, you might want to use your old DPS carries instead.
As for your strongest units, you will want them during the last five stages to increase your chances of beating the entire Total War board.

Participating in the Total War battles will reward you with Total War Medals. These Medals can be used in the Total War Shop, which can be accessed through the Shop button on the Home Menu or from the event page.

Because you can't reuse mobile suits you've already used to clear other Total War stages, even as a sub MS, you'll want to save your best units for the toughest battles that your account is capable of beating. Avoid using Sub MSs as well, and avoid using Sub MSs for your most powerful units until they're absolutely needed.

There are a bunch of stages in the grid wherein just 1 weak mobile suit with minimal investments can annihilate the entire enemy team. This strategy is arguably the most important strategy for Total War, given that you have to save your powerful mobile suits for the more difficult stages.
Even SR-rarity mobile suits with no pilot can clear these stages, though they might require a little bit of investment, like a few custom levels and some EXP to level them up as well.

Certain stages in Total War have high power levels that make them nearly impossible for beginner, intermediate, and even advanced players with relatively weaker teams.
This is why you will want to focus on clearing the stages you can and avoiding stages with strong mobile suits. At least if you cannot beat the more difficult stages, you will still be able to walk away with a good chunk of the rewards.

The Clear Squad button before the Squad Select screen lets you access a list of teams that have beaten the stage you've selected. This lists down all the teams other players used to clear this battle, giving you an idea of how many and what kind of units you will need to use.
For example, if you see plenty of squads with units that inflict Unavoidable, you might want to bring a unit that can do that too, since it's very likely that at least one of the enemy mobile suits has high evasion or Absolute Evade.

The Total War rewards have been adjusted to be more beginner-friendly. Back then, players would have to clear entire lines to reap the Diamond rewards. Now, however, a lot of the Achievement Rewards involve just clearing stages. Instead of the Diamond rewards being tied to clearing lines, you just get bonus Event Medals from clearing these bingo lines instead.
The mission rewards include Sniper Gear pieces for R, SR, and UR units, so if you want to make your sniper units more powerful through Grade Up, then it's your chance to get the gear you need.
That said, clear as many of the missions as you can to reap as many rewards. Apply the tips and tricks discussed above to clear more stages with only the units you already own.

One of the two toughest enemies in this iteration of Total War is the Engage Zero Yonfavn (Awaken), featured in stages D-1 and E-2. These stages are difficult not just because of the Yonfavin, but also because of the other mobile suits that are in its team. Even some veteran players have a hard time clearing these stages, so don't fret if you cannot clear them yourself.
To beat this challenge, you will need a solid strategy, and maybe even specific units upgraded to Grade Two. First off, The-O (Purple) and the Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (NT-D) are some of the strongest units you can use in this battle. The-O is especially good since it has sustainability through its Guard buffs and Perfect Guard ability, which is useful if you want to draw attention away from the other damage-dealers in your team.
Just like in the previous iteration of Total War, the enemy team will have a Sinanju Stein that will go after your Generic mobile suits (which also happen to be some of the bigger damage dealers at the moment). Another problem will be the Titania, which has Absolute Evade. Make sure to have a mobile suit that has Bullseye and Accuracy buffs to deal with it.
Put together mobile suits like the The-O (Purple), Nu Gundam HWS, the Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility (NT-D), the Magna Martell (Awaken), Geymalk, Theta Plus, and other powerful units.
Round out your team with offensive support units and healers. Good support units include the Gundam Ez8, Phenex, Char's Z'Gok, and Narrative Gundam B-Packs. Healers, on the other hand, include the aforementioned V2A Gundam, the Methuss, the Engage Zero Incom Type, Nu Gundam variants, and the R-rarity GM GR.

If you thought the Yonfavin was tough, then beating the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam (NT-D) may verge on the impossible. Even veteran players have trouble beating this enemy, so don't beat yourself up over it if you can't get through this fight.
The method is similar to beating Yonfavin stages, but the main difference is that the easiest way to deal with this enemy is having the Narrative Gundam B2-Packs on your team. If you have this unit, save it for this specific fight.
But there are two Full Armor Unicorn Gundam (NT-D) stages, so what about the second stage? Some players report that they have beaten it with units like the Quin Mantha as the main damage dealer, along with old meta units like the Zeong.

The best way to use your hard-earned Total War Medals is to get a featured pilot to Potential Lv. 5. While it won't impact the pilot's skills, it'll give them a substantial boost by improving their stats across the board.
