Total War is Gundam UC Engage's newest event which runs from March 19, 2025, to April 4, 2025. Read on to learn how the event works, tips to win, and what rewards you can earn.
List of Contents
Total War is a two-week-long event that will run until April 4, 2025, at 10:59:59 JST. It offers rewards like Diamonds and Total War medals, which you can exchange for goodies at the Total War shop.
The event's page will show you Green MSs arranged in a 5x5 grid. These MSs correspond to teams of varying power that you have to beat to progress in this game mode. That's 25 teams to beat if you want to complete them all, but the catch here is that you can only win once with a certain unit, and doing so will make the units you've used unavailable for your next Total War battle. You'll have to plan out how you'll progress by either saving your strongest units for the most difficult battles, pairing them with weaker allies, or avoiding the hardest ones entirely.
In this game mode, you'll earn Diamonds and Total War medals, which we'll talk about more in this page's dedicated Total War Shop section. The rewards are awarded like how they would in the game Bingo. Beat 5 enemies in a line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, to earn the rewards.
All of the mobile suits you'll fight in this mode are Green-type units, which receive increased damage from Red-type enemy attacks. The best mobile suits for this game mode aren't necessarily Red-types who have type advantages over all the Green-type units. Because of the difficulty of the higher CP stages, you'll want to try and clear the mid-tier stages with 1-2 durable or self-sustaining units while saving your strongest units for the event's toughest battles.
Participating in the Total War battles will reward you with Total War Medals. These Medals can be used in the Total War Shop, which can be accessed through the Shop button on the Home Menu or from the event page.
Because you can't reuse mobile suits you've already used to clear other Total War stages, you'll want to save your best units for the toughest battles that your account is capable of beating. However, don't expect to clear the more difficult stages of this game mode when your stronger teams' CP amounts to hundreds of thousands less than the recommended CP for a certain stage. For example, if your teams are at around only 2 million CP, odds are you're never going to be able to beat the stage with a recommended CP of 3.2 million.
There are a bunch of stages in the grid wherein just 1 weak mobile suit with minimal investments can annihilate the entire enemy team. This strategy is arguably the most important strategy for Total War, given that you have to save your powerful mobile suits for the more difficult stages. Even SR-rarity mobile suits with no pilot can clear these stages, though they might require a little bit of investment like a few custom levels and some EXP to level them up as well.
Because some stages in this game mode have ridiculously high levels of power that are impossible to clear for beginner, intermediate, and even advanced players with relatively weaker teams, you'll want to focus on clearing only the stages you can and avoid the missions aligned with the overly difficult ones unless it's one of those that you can clear with just 1 weak mobile suit. You can still clear the more difficult but beatable missions, but do that after you've done the easier ones and try to beat them with just enough firepower to save your key units for other missions.
The Total War rewards have been adjusted to be more beginner-friendly. Back then, players would have to clear entire lines to reap the Diamond rewards. Now, however, a lot of the Achievement Rewards involve just clearing stages. Instead of the Diamond rewards being tied to clearing lines, you just get bonus Event Medals from clearing these bingo lines instead. That said, clear as many of the missions as you can to reap as many rewards. Apply the tips and tricks discussed above to be able to clear more stages with only the units you already own.
The Awakened Yonfavin stages at B-1 and D-5 are the event's toughest challenges by far, and there are two of them. These two stages are extremely difficult, and you need to use a completely new team to beat the other Yonfavin stage. If you can't beat these stages, don't worry about it too much, as even the game's strongest players struggle with this part of the event. It is not something that you can just win with brute force, even if you are at maximum level and have multiple fully invested units.
You'll need a solid strategy, as well as specific units, and you'll need to buff them up in order to beat this challenge. This event's enemies target the highest HP unit on your team, so there's no need for a Gyan. The-O is good here, since it is able to evade and heal to keep its HP high, drawing aggro away from your DPS units and buffers. You'll want to be careful with the Sinanju Stein, as this will target your lowest HP Generic mobile suits first. Both that and the Awakened Yonfavin are your key targets, since Stein poses a threat to your DPS units while the Yonfavin will heal its entire team, undoing all the damage your units have worked hard for.
As for your team composition, look to use powerful PvE DPS units like the Awakened Magna Martell, HMT, White Unicorn, Yellow Sazabi, and other similar units. Bonus points for Red-type units, but you can clear this even with strong Blue-types with type disadvantages over their enemies. You'll want a tank that could stay healthy like The-O, Titania, or even Full Armor Unicorn Gundam. Just make sure that your intended tank has the highest HP pool to draw aggro. Finally, round out your team with both offensive support units and healers. Some units that thrive as offensive supports include the Gundam Ez8, Phenex, and Char's Z'Gok. Healers, on the other hand, include the Engage Zero Incom Type, Nu Gundam variants, and the GM GR.
The best way to use your hard-earned Total War Medals is to get a featured pilot to Potential Lv. 5. While it won't impact the pilot's skills, it'll give them a substantial boost by improving their stats across the board. If you don't know which pilot to spend your Total War Medals on, check out our article on the best pilots to get with your Total War Medals with the button link below.
