Sophie Franc Review

Sophie Franc is a good pilot to have even if you don't have her signature MS, simply because her most powerful buffs are accessible by plenty of mobile suits. She grants Red type and Close Combat category units a stacking melee sense buff on dealing damage worth 30% that each stacks up to 4 times. These alone make her usable in any Close Combat and any melee-oriented Red-type unit, and great in Red Close Combat units which we currently have two of: Magna Martell and Banshee Norn.

She grants 57% more melee sense to both Prototype and High Firepower units for 10 seconds after using their EX Skills. Luckily, these two are among the most common unit category tags in the game. The Close Combat Magna Martell has both these tags while the Banshee Norn falls under just the Prototype unit category tag.

Sophie also grants 17% more resistance to Dom-Types, as well as two stacking 13% resistance buffs on evading that each max out at 5 stacks or 65%. These stacking buffs are granted to Heavy Armor and Successor Unit mobile suits. Unfortunately, while these unit category tags are common, there aren't plenty of evasion tanks that'd benefit from Sophie's resistance buffs, as they often need even more evasion from their pilots which Sophie does not have. Finally, she also has a 13% stacking reaction buff that maxes out at 5 stacks or 65%, which she grants to Transforming Units.

Overall, Sophie is a decent substitute for all Close Combat and melee-oriented Red-type mobile suits, a great substitute for the Red Close Combat units, and an excellent pilot for her signature MS, which we'll talk about below.

While it's easy to find mobile suits that'll benefit from Sophie's melee sense buffs, the same cannot be said about her defensive buffs. The Fafnir benefits from the huge melee buffs Sophie has to offer, while also being able to reap the benefits of her resistance and reaction buffs. In total, she grants up to 354% melee sense, 147% resistance, and 65% reaction, strengthening the Fafnir's offense and bolstering its defense.
