Build a Logging Camp

To start producing Small Shields, you must first build a Logging Camp and assign a Family to gather Timber.
This Timber will then be processed into Planks, which is needed for Small Shields.
Logging Camp - How to Build and Use
Build a Sawpit
| Material(s) | Quantity |

| Timber | x2 |
Once you have Timber, build a Sawpit and assign a family to start producing Planks.
1 Plank is needed to craft 1 Small Shield, so process planks depending on how many Small Shields you plan to create.
Build a Level 2 Burgage Plot
Upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 2. Burgage Plots cost 4 Timber to upgrade, and must meet certain amenity requirements before being upgradeable.
How to Upgrade Your Burgage Plots
Purchase a Joiner's Workshop
| Material(s) | Quantity |

| Planks | x4 |
Once your Burgage Plot is Level 2, Purchase the Joiner's Workshop Backyard Extension. This converts the resident family to Artisans, allowing the production of Wooden Parts and Shields.
After the Joiner's Workshop is constructed, begin the Production of Small Shields to increase your Army's might!

How to Use Small Shields
Equipment for Militia Footmen
Small Shields are defensive equipment for your Militia Footmen. Each unit assigned to become a Militia Footman will try to equip 1 Sidearm and 1 Small Shield, given that these are available at your settlement.
