| Unlock Condition | Obtain Drillbreaker, and complete "Cid Sophiar, Master Mechanic" sidequest. |
| Clear Condition | Collect a Magitek Core and deliver it to Cid to upgrade the weapon. |

First, you need to obtain Drillbreaker, visit Formouth Garrison, and look for it. Then, speak with Cid to begin this sidequest. He will help you upgrade your weapon, but you need to find the item that he is asking.
Magitek Core is an item dropped by MA-X Dux robots; check your inventory as you may already have this. In case you don't, go back to Formouth Garrison and defeat an MA-X Dux robot again.
Talk to Cid by returning to Hammerhead. Hand over the Magitek Core to upgrade the Drillbreaker. Upgrading this weapon will take some time; spend it by hunting or sleep at any haven. Wait for Cid's call and go back complete this sidequest.
