Ifrit Movesets
Ifrit is the penultimate boss of the game, first seen in the intro of the game where Noctis and party are shown all grown-up and wearing clothes fit for Noct's ascension. He will be sitting on a throne of bones, and he will use his most potent flame attacks. Warp-attacking him will only make him pick Noctis up, inspect him, and throw him away, indifferent to the challenge the party poses.
In the second phase of the fight where he is more mobile, Ifrit can fight both in mid-air and on the ground. He and his sword is constantly in flames, and he can pick up Noctis and other party members that are within his range. If he is mid-air, he 'floats' by turning into flame and appearing above Noctis, slashing at him before turning into flame once again.
How to Beat Ifrit
The party could begin by wearing Fire-resistant armor that will render the Hexatheon's attacks harmless. Alternatively, using Umbra at the rest stop available to travel back in time could prove useful as well, as the party can eat food that will boost their elemental protection.
Don't bother fighting Ifrit in the air. Keep the fight grounded, where you can render him vulnerable by attacking his heel and foot. Once he's down, the player can unleash powerful blindside and link-strike attacks on him.
Another useful--and unique--tactic is to use the Ice-element goddess Shiva against Ifrit. This will trigger a unique cutscene, where Shiva pacifies Ifrit's attacks through the use of her powerful Diamond Dust attack. This usually destroys Ifrit and defeats him for good, allowing Shiva to deliver a parting note for Noctis.
