How to Get Chocobos | How to Call Chocobo

How to Get a Chocobo

Chocobo Post Request

Sidequest

At the start of Chapter 3, Prompto will make a request about riding a chocobo. Following this quest will take you to a Chocobo Post in Duscae.

Join the Hunt

Chocobo Post Request

The owner of the Chocobo Post will tell you that chocobos are unavailable for rent because of Deadeye. Join the hunt for Deadeye which is entitled A Behemoth Undertaking.

Hunt Complete

After defeating Deadeye and completing the hunt, chocobos will be available for rent. Each day of rental costs 50 Gil.

How to Ride and Call a Chocobo

Call Chocobo

Call Chocobo

To call your chocobo, press R2 like how you open the item menu, switch categories using the Dpad to the Whistles category, then choose "Call chocobo".

Riding the Chocobo

Ride Chocobo

To ride the chocobo, go near it then press ◯ when prompted.
