How to Break the Damage Limit

This is a guide for breaking the damage limit in Final Fantasy XV. Read on to learn about the ways of dealing damage higher than the usual maximum damage!

Breaking the Damage Limit

It is possible to deal damage more than the damage cap (9,999 damage) in a single attack. This will be useful especially against enemies with really high HP.

How to Break the Damage Limit

Ascension Ability

Each of Noctis's teammates has their own Limit Break ascension ability under the Techniques astralsphere. Each ability costs 999 AP.

Using Summons

Summons can also break the damage limit and the other fun part is that they will deal damage to the whole battlefield. Use them on battles with multiple stronger enemies or on a superboss battle!

How to Use Summons

Armiger Unleashed

While in Armiger Unleashed state, Noctis gains improved combat abilities and techniques and can also deal damage that break the damage limit.

Wind-up Lord Vexxos

Another way is to craft spells using an element and Wind-up Lord Vexxos. This way will result in either Flare, Freeze, or Electon depending on the element that you mixed with Wind-up Lord Vexxos. These spells break the damage limit unlike their weaker versions.

Wind-up Lord Vexxos can be won from the Justice Monsters Five in Altissia.

Other Limit Break Items

Other than Wind-up Lord Vexxos, there are items that can also be used to craft spells that can break the damage limit.

  • Hunter's Medallion
  • Adamantite
  • Zu Beak
  • Hardened Hide
  • Rotten Splinterbone
  • Dragon Claw
