Location Hammerhead
Unlock Condition Obtain Plunderers, and complete "Cid Sophiar, Master Mechanic" sidequest.

A Better Pair of Plunderers Clear Conditions and Rewards

Clear Condition Collect a Barbed Scythe and deliver it to Cid to upgrade the weapon.
Reward 800 EXP

How to Complete A Better Pair of Plunderers

Talk to Cid

Speak with Cid to begin this sidequest. He will help you upgrade your weapon, but you need to find the item that he is asking.

Find the Barbed Scythe

Go to Malmalam Thicket and defeat a Killer Wasp to get a Barbed Scythe.

Defeating a Killer Wasp

Killer Wasps are monsters who are capable of flying; they are quite challenging to defeat. Make sure to equip a Polearm or a Dagger; they are weak to those weapons.

Upgrade to Plunderers II

Talk to Cid by returning to Hammerhead. Hand over the Barbed Scythe to upgrade the Plunderer and complete the sidequest.
