Advantages of Camping

Haven

Stay In for Free

Setting up camp and spending the night on it will not consume Gil or anything else as it is completely free! It is also useful if it is getting dark and there are no nearby stops to stay in.

Free Dishes for Buffs

All dishes prepared while camping is free, you just need to collect the ingredients. The rarer the ingredients and the recipe, the better the buffs that it will give. You can also opt for dishes that does not require any ingredient.

Disadvantages of Camping

Caravan

No EXP Multiplier

Camping will not give you bonus EXP unlike when staying at inns. Inns' EXP multiplier ranges from 1.2x to 3x EXP bonus.

Recommendations

It is recommended that you camp if you need buffs as the dishes prepared at camp are better than what you can buy or if you do not have a lot of EXP in stock.

If you farmed a lot and obtained a lot of EXP, staying at inns would be the best choice as the EXP multipliers will make the most out of your grind once you cash in your EXP.
