The Challenge Battle event is Gundam UC Engage's series of missions where mobile suits that meet certain requirements will have an advantage! Read on to see the new banners, gameplay modes, and rewards the event has in store.
Challenge Battle Event Overview
Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage's Challenge Battle Event started on January 22, 2025, giving all players a chance to win Diamonds, UR Custom Tickets, and a brand new Title. The event will run until February 5, 2025.
Event Information
Clear a Series of Missions by Using Specific Mobile Suits
Challenge Battle is a series of missions where specific mobile suits are far more suitable to use than others.
This time, suits with the unit categories Red Mobile Suit and Gundam-Type will have an advantage in battle, so make sure your teams will be made up of mobile suits with these categories!
Unlike the last Challenge Battle iteration, the game does not outright state what kind of advantages Red Mobile Suit and Gundam-Type units will benefit from in this game mode. For reference, "One Year War" units benefitted from a 50% damage boost, 50% damage reduction, and 100,000 more max damage, while "High Firepower" mobile suits got a 75% damage boost from the start of battle. The unique buffs granted to Red Mobile Suits and Gundam-Type units in this game mode are probably similar to what we had last time.
On top of this, all Challenge Battle missions will have Green-type enemies only, so Red-type mobile suits have another advantage. Some of the top Red Mobile Suits include all of Char Aznable's mobile suits (Sazabis, Zakus, Gelgoog, and Z'Gok). The top Gundam-Type mobile suits include the Zeta variants, Nu Gundam variants, Banshee variants, and Unicorn variants. Finally, the best Green-type mobile suits include the Green Nu, White Unicorn, The-O, Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility, and ZZ Gundam.
How To Clear The Extra Stage
The Extra stage of this event mode is very challenging, even with a team of over 3 million CP. One way to cheese this stage is to use or borrow a very powerful Banshee Norn (NT-D) or Blue Sazabi. Both these mobile suits thrive on getting attacked, so place them in the front row, in a manner where they draw most of the aggro away from their allies and onto themselves. Field them in with powerful DPS units to provide powerful support fire. Mobile suits like the Zeong, Yellow Sazabi, Purple Sazabi, Gottrlatan, and other SS-tier picks will do well here. Alternatively, if you are one of those whales with plenty of extremely powerful units, you could even use brute force to win this event.
Do note that this is an extremely difficult event to complete, more difficult than last time's iteration. There's no one MS that can carry your team like how The-O was able to do so last Challenge Battle. That said, try to limit your expectations, especially if your team isn't quite at that endgame level of power yet.
