This is a guide to changing a unit's outfits in Fire Emblem: Three Houses (FE3H), as well as outfit options that can be changed such as in battle attire and hair. Read more to find out how to change how your students look in and out of the battlefield!
First, go to the journal in your room and interact with it.
Next, select the Unit Appearance option.
Lastly, choose whose outfit you want to change, or go to the bottom of the menu if you want to change everyone's.
There are two options, Attire and In Battle. For House Leaders in New Game+, there is also the Hair option.
This determines the attire the character will wear around the Monastery and during cutscenes in Exploration. It does not change their portrait.
Here, you can choose to have the character wear their Monastery outfit chosen in Attire to battle, or have them wear the default armor that corresponds with their equipped class.
Certain classes do not have an option to allow the character to wear their monastery attire. These are the Horse Mounted Units (Cavalier, Paladin, etc.) and Flying Units (Pegasus Knight, Wyvern Rider). In Part 2, some units have exemptions to this rule, usually if they're proficient in horse riding and are
canonically mounted units (i.e Sylvain, Leonie, Ingrid, etc.)
In New Game+, you have the option to change your House Leader's hair freely between pre and post time skip looks.
