List of Contents
In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, you get to pick leading one of the titular Three Houses: the Black Eagles, the Blue Lions, and the Golden Deer. Each of them have a very similar plot in the first half of the game, but most of them differ dramatically from each other in the second part. Completing one of these routes constitutes beating the game.
Without spoiling anything, there are four possible routes in the game. The routes are listed below.
The length of time it takes to finish a route depends on the difficulty.
One route takes 30-35 hours to finish, if you use every weekend to either explore or battle. This will take slightly longer if you grind the endless battles and professor level through fishing. It be much shorter however if you use the seminars and rest often in lieu of time consuming exploration or battles. If you complete lots of side quests and grind, this number could be closer to 65 hours.
One route takes 35-40 hours to finish, if you use every weekend to either explore or battle. There are no endless battles to grind, but you can still grind Professor Levels by fishing. This still takes a bit longer as battles are harder, so you have to be more thoughtful, careful and you're more prone to restarting missions. If you complete lots of side quests and grind, this number could be closer to 65 hours.
The whole game will last you around 120 hours if you play all routes in one difficulty. The bonuses gained from New Game Plus eliminate a lot of the grindy aspects of the first run through, severely reducing the time each route takes.
Yes. Each route tells a different story and explores different aspects about the world and the characters. Each are worth experiencing so you get the full story of what is happening, and you can see the connections between the different routes.
