This is a guide on how long it takes to finish Fire Emblem: Three Houses (FE3H)! Whether you only want to complete the story, complete the story and side quests, or complete each route and 100% the game, this guide give you an approximate on how much each one will take.

How Long Does It Take to Beat the Story?

FE3H Routes

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, you get to pick leading one of the titular Three Houses: the Black Eagles, the Blue Lions, and the Golden Deer. Each of them have a very similar plot in the first half of the game, but most of them differ dramatically from each other in the second part. Completing one of these routes constitutes beating the game.

Without spoiling anything, there are four possible routes in the game. The routes are listed below.

  • Azure Moon - Blue Lions
  • Verdant Wind - Golden Deers
  • Silver Snow - Church of Seiros
  • Crimson Flower - Black Eagles

How Long Does One Route Take To Finish?

The length of time it takes to finish a route depends on the difficulty.

Normal Difficulty

One route takes 30-35 hours to finish, if you use every weekend to either explore or battle. This will take slightly longer if you grind the endless battles and professor level through fishing. It be much shorter however if you use the seminars and rest often in lieu of time consuming exploration or battles. If you complete lots of side quests and grind, this number could be closer to 65 hours.

Hard Difficulty

One route takes 35-40 hours to finish, if you use every weekend to either explore or battle. There are no endless battles to grind, but you can still grind Professor Levels by fishing. This still takes a bit longer as battles are harder, so you have to be more thoughtful, careful and you're more prone to restarting missions.If you complete lots of side quests and grind, this number could be closer to 65 hours.

How Long Does It Take to 100% FE3H?

The whole game will last you around 120 hours if you play all routes in one difficulty. The bonuses gained from New Game Plus eliminate a lot of the grindy aspects of the first run through, severely reducing the time each route takes.

Is It Worth Replaying?

Yes. Each route tells a different story and explores different aspects about the world and the characters. Each are worth experiencing so you get the full story of what is happening, and you can see the connections between the different routes.
