List of Terrains

This page lists all the available terrains in Fire Emblem Three Houses (FE3H). All of the terrain and both their positive and negative effects on units, as well as how they affect different movement types, will be explained here.

What Does Terrain Do?

Tile Types Give Different Effects

Terrains are the tiles your units occupy when battling in the game. There are several neutral terrains that don't offer any advantages and disadvantages, but there are also several terrains that affects a unit's stats when they are standing on it. Here we will list down all the terrains that have special effects on units and the battlefield.

Note that these terrains do not affect flying units, so you will need to dismount the said units if you want them to be affected by the tile they are standing on.

List Of Terrains

Beneficial Terrain

Forest +30% Avoid and 1 Defense. Also reduces the movement of your non-flying units.
Thickets +20% Avoid and 1 Defense. Also reduce the movement of your non-flying units.
Evasion Floor +40% Avoid
Heal Tile + Defense and Resist + 1. Heal's HP each turn.
StrongHold +30% Avoid, Defense and Resist + 2.
Throne + 40%Avoid, Defense and Resistance +5

Fliers Only Terrain

These are terrains that can only be navigable by fliers.

River Rubble
Waterfall Sea
Mountain Pond
Rock Lava
Edifice Cliff
Trench Channel
House Grave
Wall Fence

Harmful Terrain

These terrains offer harmful effects to units that stand on them. These ranges from reduced mobility to direct damage to the unit's HP.

Desert Greatly reduces of land units. Does not affect mage units and fliers.
Wasteland Damages the unit each turn and reduces their movement. Does not affect fliers.
Beach Greatly reduces the movement of units. Does not affect mages and fliers.
Crater Reduces the movement of cavalry units. Does not affect fliers.
Floor Trap Causes damage each turn. Does not affect fliers.

Interactable Terrains

Warp Tiles Warps the units to the other tile warp tile that is partnered with the specific warp tile used.
Chest Chests contain treasures and can only be opened with the lockpick skill or a unit carrying a chest key.
Doors Blocks passage from your units. Can be opened using door keys or with the lockpick skill.
Lever An interactable lever that can do several mechanics depending on the stage.
Bridge An interactable bridge in the paralogue Death Toll. Lowers a bridge that merchants can use to escape the demon beast.
Fire Orb Can only be used by units that can wield magic. Damages the target unit from3-12 tiles away. Damage dealt is magical and is effective against armored units.
Onager Cannot be used by magician units. Damages the target unit and units surrounding it from 3-10 tiles away.
Ballista Can be used by units proficient with the bow. Damages a target unit within 3-12 tiles away.
Viskam A terrain that attacks your units when activated.
