Equipping the Quartz Charm prevents the wearer from being affected by mortal blows or instant death attacks similar to the Safety Ring, Jinx Belt, and Attack Scarf.
Wearing the Quartz Charm halves the damage you take from enemies (similar to Ghost Medal).
Note that other Defense boosts from other means such as the special move Geno Boost's timed bonus do not stack when applied on a member with the Quartz Charm equipped.
In addition to the above effects, the Quartz Charm also lets the wearer deal 50% more damage when using regular attacks and Special Moves.
Once the Quartz Charm is equipped, other Attack boosts will not stack when used in conjuction with it. Other Attack boosts include the following:
To get this very powerful accessory, you will need to unlock the sealed door in Monstro Town and defeat Culex, the secret boss, inside.
To unlock the Sealed Door, buy the Fireworks sold by a mole child in Moleville for 500 coins.
Exchange the Fireworks for a Shiny Stone with another mole child. Go to the sealed door in Monstro Town to open it and to find Culex.

1 | Buy Fireworks in Moleville First purchase Fireworks in Moleville in the northwest house for 500 coins. You'll pass through Moleville on the way to the 3rd Star Piece. |
2 | Exchange Fireworks with a Shiny Stone The purchased Fireworks then must be exchanged with a girl mole next to the house where you bought the Fireworks. She's hiding behind the crates. |
3 | Unlock Door in Monstro Town In Monstro Town, proceed to the sealed door next to the weapon shop. Going near it with the Shiny Stone will unlock the door. Talk to Culex and accept his challenge for the Quartz Charm. You'll reach Monstro Town while searching for the 6th Star Piece. |
