Enemies with More HP and Damage

Special Enemies are similar to regular enemies, but they will have more HP and deal more damage compared to their normal versions. It is unclear how much more HP and damage they have, but it is best to use strong Special Moves to take them down.

Best Strategy to Win Battles

Found Randomly in Normal Battles

Players will encounter special enemies as you engage in normal battles with regular enemies. You can only tell if it is a special enemy once you are in the battle screen, and they will be highlighted in gold with a ''Special Enemy'' indicator. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if they are special enemies while you are exploring in the overworld.

Additionally, almost every regular enemy can have a special enemy variant. The only exception to this would be the bosses you face during the story.

Special Enemies Rewards

1 Frog Coin

Defeating a Special Enemy will guarantee you one (1) Frog Coin along with the usual rewards for that enemy type. Due to this, it is best to always try to beat them whenever you find one. Then, you can use the Frog Coins you earned at the Frog Emporium or in the Frog Coin Shop.
