REANIMAL Drops More Info A Month Before Release
Little Nightmares Devs Offer Friend’s Pass and 3 DLCs for Next Horror Game

REANIMAL, the new game by Little Nightmares I and II creators, has less than a month left before launching on February 13, 2026. In an earlier post on Steam this January, the developers announced Friend’s Pass for REANIMAL, allowing players to invite friends for co-op play without purchasing a second copy. Nevertheless, a disclaimer clarified that the pass will not be available immediately on release day.
Notably, other hit co-op titles, such as It Takes Two and Split Fiction, integrate the Friend’s Pass feature as well.

Three unnamed DLCs have also been hinted at, with more details expected in the upcoming weeks. Moreover, while the OST will not be available separately at launch, the developers are considering releasing it in the near future. Other new details included updating the demo to reflect the polished game and confirming the final PC system requirements.
Tarsier Studios will publish a full FAQ two weeks before launch.
Fans Compare Little Nightmares III with REANIMAL

With only a four-month gap between the launch windows for Little Nightmares III and REANIMAL, online communities—especially long-time fans of the horror puzzle-platformer since 2017—could not help but draw comparisons. Aside from being developed by Tarsier Studios, the team behind the original Little Nightmares, fans found it hard not to notice the similarities in their visuals and concept—essentially, that of a child facing gigantic horrors.
It can be recalled that after successfully releasing Little Nightmares II in 2021, Tarsier Studios stepped away from the franchise and handed over the reins for the third installment to Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games. The said studio previously worked on the Enhanced Edition for Little Nightmares II, handling resolution and performance improvements.
However, unlike its predecessors' "Very Positive" Steam reviews, Little Nightmares III largely disappointed fans and met Mixed reviews on Steam. Moreover, it had the lowest Metacritic score in the franchise at 71, with Little Nightmares II having the highest at 82. General complaints revolved around not being up to par with the signature Little Nightmares narrative, on top of the lack of local co-op play.

Nonetheless, in a recent interview with GamesRadar, Tarsier Studio's Dave Mervik explained that REANIMAL's atmospheric similarities with Little Nightmares serve only to reinforce the studio's identity, rather than connecting the lore of both games.
According to Mervik, REANIMAL will be "darker" and "grittier" than Little Nightmares. "We don't give people the safety net of the charm of Little Nightmares," he said, adding that REANIMAL is "more realistic, the way we illustrate stuff, the kids are a bit older, the themes are a little bit starker."

REANIMAL is an upcoming horror-adventure co-op game. With over a million demo downloads, it has been widely recognized as one of 2026's most anticipated games.
REANIMAL is currently available for pre-order on PC via Steam and Epic Games, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While waiting for its full release on February 13, 2026, players can check out the demo on Steam, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
