Before you unlock Defector, finish the Crimson Dawn Opportunity unlocked after clearing Jabba's Favor. To clear the Opportunity Quest, talk to EE'zok in Bestine, Tatooine.
EE'zok will tell you the details of the quest, which will direct you to the South Jundland Waste.
| 1 | Search for Clues of Ays' Location |

 Follow the quest marker to the South Jundland Wastes. Once you get close, the quest marker will turn into Find Ays' hideout, then Search for Clues of Ays' Location. Access the computer to get the clue. |

| 2 | Find Ays and Escape with Her |
 Follow the quest marker and head to the pirate camp in Garrick Ranch. Ays will be in the building shown in the image above. After talking to her, you will have to escape on your speeder to your Trailblazer while being tailed by the Imperials. |

| 3 | Bring Ays to Toshara |
 After making it to the Tatooine Orbit, you will fight a few Imperials before going into Hyperspace towards the Toshara Orbit. At this point, Bib Fortuna will contact you and you will have to make a choice: Should You Take Ays to the Crimson Dawn or the Hutts? |

| 4 | Talk to Eleera/Verrick |
 Depending on which choice you made, a different cutscene will play once you reach Toshara. This marks the end of the Defector quest. |

The better choice is to take Ays to the Hutts. You will significantly increase your reputation with them and get an extra 1000 Credits.
