The Pyke Syndicate is the best faction to side with because they have the most territories across different planets and different stages of the game (early to late game) and because their max reputation gear set reward (Imperial Disguise Gear Set) makes stealth easier in Imperial Territories, which occurs a lot during the whole game.

Siding with the Pykes early on and maxing out reputation with them sets you up well for the rest of the playthrough. Don't worry though; you can still max out your reputation with all the other factions later on in the game.

In addition to what was previously evaluated, the fact that the Pyke Syndicate is the first faction you encounter also means it's easier to max out their reputation early on.

Ashiga Clan is Very Easy to Raise Reputation With

The Ashiga Clan is the easiest faction to side with since they're pretty much just isolated to the planet of Kijimi, while only coming into conflict with the Crimson Dawn. Their contract missions are also typically quick ones since Kijimi Contracts mostly require you to go out into orbit to complete an escort or delivery job (est. 3-min completion time per contract).

The Kijimi Explorer Gear from their faction focuses on keeping Kay Vess alive at low health. It provides significant damage reduction at low health with its Gear Set Bonus, on top of the damage reduction from both the jacket and pants.

The gear set bonus also Supercools the blaster on low-health takedowns, while the individual gear pieces synergize with health loss. Lastly, the belt also increases Kay's Bacta Vial carrying capacity for more healing.

Hutt Cartel is More for Side Content

The Hutt Cartel is another potential faction to side with. Due to its lower prevalence in the Main Story, you won't have to worry as much about whether to choose the Hutts over a faction you're already on good terms with. The Hutts control most of Tatooine and have a couple of territories on Akiva, so they're a good alliance to have.

Their faction Gear Set can be powerful in combat, as it provides Grenade buffs from the belt, while the jacket and pants grant damage resistance. However, it offers little utility outside of combat.

Crimson Dawn Can be Prioritized Last

The Crimson Dawn is the least recommended faction to side with early on in the story. The Crimson Dawn are in conflict with the Pykes on Toshara and the Ashiga Clan on Kijimi, so if you plan on siding with the Crimson Dawn throughout the whole story, be prepared to lose out on reputation from both those factions.

Additionally, the Crimson Reign Gear set they provide is more focused on utility, supporting offensive or stealthy playstyles by buffing Smoke Bombs and Stun Shots. Both the tunic and trousers provide Kay with effects that suit a stealthy playstyle very well, while the belt increases Kay's capacity to carry grenades on top of restoring health on stealth takedowns.

Can You Max Out All Factions?

Possible to Max Out All Factions

It's possible to max out your reputation with all factions. To do this, you'll need to do Contracts via Contract Brokers, as they're repeatable and seemingly unlimited in supply.

It won't be possible to max out the reputation for a single faction if you just rely on choosing them during the story.
