This choice occurs in the middle of the syndicate quest, The Traitor. Kay confronts the Pyke, Tizlak, about his betrayal of Gorak.
Taking Tizlak to Gorak will increase your reputation with the Pyke Syndicate and decrease your reputation with Crimson Dawn. The opposite happens when you choose to accept Tizlak's bribe.
The Traitor Walkthrough and Rewards
While taking the bribe gives you more Credits when the quest ends, you will significantly lose reputation for the Pykes.
Unless you want to maintain a positive reputation with the Crimson Dawn, taking Tizlak back to Gorak is the recommended choice since the Pyke Syndicate's maximum reputation reward is a set that is great for stealth when Imperials are involved.
