Okay, for the sake of helping everyone here, I re-played this a few times. And I discovered a few things, first of all once you have the ball high, you have to keep it high. The second that ball starts dropping low, it's going to stay low. And the faster it gets, the quicker it's game over. So once you have a good rhythm going, count 1 second, and once it picks up, go to half-seconds. Just keep a steady flow, and use your thumb to count. Also, the default X and Y setting works perfectly fine.

Alright, I literally just started playing this game yesterday. Anyways, once I reached that area it took me only 2 tries to get it. The first time, I actually hit the ball 65 times. That's only because it was my first time figuring it out. And then, the second time, I completely nailed it. Though, I only went up to 100 points and then stopped. That's because once you reach 100 points, the 99 counter doesn't go any higher. So it was pretty pointless to keep going after I already won the LC-DX.

Okay, so I just decided to quit doing this challenge because it is nearly impossible, sorta like the 100 jumps challenge in Mario RPG. (definitely because of the tempo, but it could be a skill issue tbh.) So I've just resorted to completing the story and getting Luck Charm DX that way. I'm currently on Merry-go Island, wish me luck.

Thank you! I’ve had the reward equipped on Luigi since then.

Took me 2 hours but I got 109 hits. Worst part is I refused to progress the story until I beat this challenge so I was just sitting there doing nothing but this for 2 hours straight. Reminded me of the 100 Super Jumps from Super Mario RPG but that was even harder for me.

Okay, so the highest score that I could get was 92. I'll update this when I eventually get 100. (Which will probably never happen, but just by looking at my username, You can tell that I am dedicated to this challenge.)

It took me a ton of tries to get to 80 and then the ball basically just went at the speed of light and I couldn't get any higher than that. I'll update this when I get 100.

This is basically the jump rope/Volleyball from Super Mario Oddysey. XD It took me so many tries but the 2X lucky badge is really worth it. Practically a 30% (or 50% if you get Lucky boost) every time you attack, especially if you pick Stache bonus. It makes a difference.
