In Super Mario RPG Remake, Invincibility Stars give a temporary effect that allow you to defeat enemies and gain experience on the overworld without engaging the enemies in battle. Read on to learn the invincibility star locations throughout the world and what invincibility stars do.
List of Contents
Invincibility Star | Location |
---|---|
Star #1 Bandit's Way |
Get to the fourth area where the two floating yellow blocks are. Get on top of either block and make the blocks move, then jump when you reach the treasure chest to get the star. |
Star #2 Kero Sewers |
Upon exiting the pipe leading to the fifth area, you'll see a treasure chest containing the star floating beside the pipe. |
Star #3 Coal Mines |
In the second part of the Coal Mines after the mole blows up a hole in the wall, go to the second floor of the next area. Proceed through the straight path until you reach the chest containing the star. |
Star #4 Sea |
In the next area south of the shopkeeper, you'll find a bunch of starfish; go to the southmost part of the area to find the chest containing the star. |
Star #5 Land's End |
At the starting area of the cave in Land's End, go south of the Save Block to find the chest containing the star. |
Star #6 Land's End |
In the Land's End cave, when you fall into the hole with the IN sign, you'll find a bunch of crates to the northwest. Talk to the shaman behind the crates, and he'll give you a star in exchange for 400 coins. |
Star #7 Nimbus Land |
In the set of narrow corridors after the cutscene where Valentina runs away, you'll encounter a chest floating very high up. Jump under it to reveal a hidden platform, then get on that platform and jump to the chest containing the star. The effect for this star is much shorter than other stars. |
Star #8 Barrel Volcano |
Upon entering Barrel Volcano, keep proceeding through the rooms until you reach the fourth from the starting one. You'll find the chest containing the star upon entering that area. |
When you get an Invincibility Star, you'll get a temporary effect where bumping into enemies into overworld will instantly defeat them instead of engaging in battle. You'll gain the experience from these enemies as if you battled them!
Invincibility Stars are single-use and once you obtain and use one, you won't be able to use it again. But there's an exploit to reusing a star: allowing yourself to be defeated after using one without saving. Upon respawning, you'll keep the experience you get from the star, and can use the star again.
Invincibility Stars have an exploit that allows you to easily farm experience and levels when you spot one in the SNES version of Super Mario RPG. The best place to do this is with the star in Belome Temple.
How to Farm EXP and Level Up Fast
# | Step-by-Step Guide |
---|---|
1 | Save Near the Box with the Star Find an invincibility star that you want to exploit. Then, before using that star, save your game at the nearest save point. |
2 | Use the Star and Defeat as Many Enemies as Possible Get the star, then bump and defeat into as much enemies as you can. While doing this, find the most efficient path to defeating the most enemies and take note of it for future runs. |
3 | Allow Yourself to be Defeated After the star wears off, allow yourself to be defeated. Go to a powerful enemy such as a boss; remove your equipment if necessary to make it easier. |
4 | After Respawning, Repeat the Process Once your party is wiped out, you'll respawn at the save point that you last saved, just before getting the star. Even though your party got wiped out, you keep the experience, and the star is still there to be taken, allowing you to start the process again. You can do this method as much as you like! |
