Fishing Bait is required for fishing and most can be bought from Clyde and other vendors. Different types of bait will also attract specific fish sizes at a fishing spot.

How to Get Fantastic Bait

Fantastic Bait is required for catching Jumbo-sized fish. To get started on finding Fantastic Bait, you will have to talk Clyde and complete the fishing tutorial (Looking Glass) first.

Aftewards, complete all five (5) fish-related bulletin board requests in Xion.

The last request Where is the Fantastic Bait? involves catching at least 20 types of fish and then buying Information: Fantastic Bait from Roxanne's shop for 300G.

The information bought from Roxanne will lead you to the location of the Fantastic Bait at the The Plant which is to the far southeast corner of the Wasteland .

Fishing Controls and Instructions

1	Hold and equip the Fishing Rod
2	Set up the Rod with
3	Hold and select a bait
4	Tilt Up to cast the Rod
5	When a fish bites, Press to Hook the fish
6	Tilt the button in the opposite direction of the fish while repeatedly tapping .
7	Press when the fish stops moving. Press it as much as the blue bar asks it to, not too soft, not too hard, just right.
8	Continue pressing until the bar above it becomes full, then you can press to get the fish.
9	Earn fishing points based on the type of fish you catch.

Stellar Fishing Tips and Tricks

Change Fishing Mode

To catch fish easier, there is an option in the Settings menu under the Accessibility tab where you can turn on to change your Fishing Mode so it will be easier to catch a fish.

Purchase Fishing Data at Clyde's Shop

After catching certain amount of fish, you can gain Fishing Points. You can use these to buy items from Clyde's Shop.

You should prioritize buying the Fishing Data and Advanced Fishing Data as it will help you fish with ease and greatly improves your catch rate, specifically for bigger fish.

Get the Best Fishing Data Upgrade

To access the Best Fishing Data Upgrade, you must first finish the following quests: Wife's Water Tank, An Unforgettable Fish Dish, and Fish Research.

Once completed, you'll unlock the quest, A Gift For A Fishing Maniac, which is the quest that will give you the data upgrade.

When Can You Start Fishing

Talk To Clyde in the Great Desert

Once you have progressed in the main story and reached Abyss Levoire, you can now go to the Great Desert. Go to the center of the Desert to find Clyde.

After talking to Clyde, you can grab the nearby fishing Rod to start your fishing journey!

Talking to Clyde after collecting all 25 Fish types will reward Eve the Ocean Maid suit.

How to Get Ocean Maid Nano Suit

Earn Fishing Points and Buy From Clyde's Shop

As you catch fish you also earn Fishing Points. You can use these points to buy items from Clyde's Shop.

Aside from fishing related items, his shop also offers useful items for Eve.

More Fish Means More Fishing Spots

The more fish you get, the more Fishing Spots Clyde will show you.

Get the Lonely Fisherman Trophy

If you catch 20 types of fish, you will acquire the Silver trophy called the Lonely Fisherman trophy.
