The Shield is used to reduce enemy damage in Stellar Blade. Find out what the effects of the shield are, how to break enemy shields, as well as how to restore your shield's durability.
The Shield's primary use is to defend and reduce incoming damage from the enemy. Its gauge is displayed as SH and is shown just below the HP bar on the lower left side of the screen.
It is important to remember that both the player and the enemies possess shields and the higher the Shield value is, the higher the damage reduction will be.
By increasing the Shield's defense, you can further reduce the damage you take. Equipping items like Exospines can increase your Shield's defense level due to their equipment effects.
Increasing the Shield's defense level will increase the SH gauge by one.
Ways to Break Enemy Shield |
---|
|
The most basic way to weaken the enemy's shield is by hitting it with normal attacks or skills. After continuous attacks, the shield will eventually break and it will be easier to defeat the enemy.
Equipping Gears such as the Shield Destruction Gear will increase your shield damage to +18%, this will further aid you in enemy shield destruction.
Alternatively, you can also equip the Shield Penetration Gear where you will be provided with a +9% Shield Penetration stat boost. This will be effective in ignoring the enemy's defense and going for the enemy's HP head-on.
Feel free to switch your gears depending on the type of enemy you encounter.
Shield Breaker Charged Attack | + |
---|
You can also destroy the enemy's shield more effectively if you have unlocked the Shield Breaker beta skill. The attack will feel more detrimental when turned into a charged attack.
This is the most efficient way to destroy the enemy's guard but do be aware, however, that while doing a charged attack, you will be vulnerable to enemy attacks. Timing your charged attacks is key to successfully annihilating the enemy's defense.
To instantly debilitate the enemy of its defense without the risk of taking damage yourself, using a Pulse Grenade is the way to go. Pulse Grenades explode instantly upon contact either on the enemy or on the floor. The only downside of using grenades is they get consumed after use and therefore are limited.
Item | Price | Effect |
---|---|---|
Pulse Grenade | 300G | Deals damage to enemy's shield |
Ways to Recover Your Shield |
---|
|
Eve's shield regenerates over time, especially when in battle. If you wish to fill your SH gauge, while facing a stronger enemy, you can do so running around and avoiding damage until it is fully replenished.
By equipping the Reflex-Type Exospine, the recovery of your shield will be much faster when performing Guard on enemy attacks.
Also, with this equipped, performing Perfect Dodges and Perfect Parries are easier.
Following any battle, your SH Gauge will completely replenish to its maximum capacity.
There will be no need to rest at camps or utilize items to refill it, as it automatically restores after each encounter.
