1. Follow Volt to the Location
After accepting the quest from Scarlet, Volt will run off to where one of the Box Robots was spotted. Make your way to the southeastern part of the Great Desert, just beside some quicksand and a broken road.
There's a nearby fast travel point north of the location where you need to go, so make your way to the Debris-filled Entryway supply camp to fast travel there.
2. Interact with the Box Robot
Make your way to the location and you'll see Volt barking at the Box Robot floating on top of a bus.
Climb up the bus and interact with the Box Robot to start the operation.
3. Complete the Operation
The fifth and final Operation tasks you with defeating Maelstrom to successfully finish the mini-game.
Completing the Operation will reward you the Commander Doll key item which you will need to bring back to Scarlet.
4. Return to Scarlet
Make your way back to Scarlet and speak with her to complete the quest, and you will receive 2 Bone-Wrenches as a reward.

Shoot the Red Orbs and Test Subjects
Eventually, Maelstrom will start chunking out red orbs across all covers so make sure to shoot them immediately to prevent you from getting damaged. Additionally, it will also throw out another 3 red orbs that spawns Test Subjects which you need to shoot as well since they will be crawling towards all covers.
Try to prioritize a cover you want to keep safe so that you can avoid getting damaged too much since each of these attacks can hit all covers.
Destroy the Green Wandering Robots
Occasionally, an emergency flying ambulance will appear and drop green wandering robots throughout the battlefield as the boss fight continues. Make sure to shoot these robots to restock your recovery bar which you can use to heal EVE.
The main objective here is to survive the fight long enough for you to whittle down Maelstrom's health so make sure you always have enough heals just in case you get hit by a strong attack.
Use the X Burst for Unli Ammo
Since this is a boss fight, the Unli Ammo burst is the best burst to use for this fight since it specializes in single-target damage. Only use this when you know you are in a safe cover since you can still get damaged during this burst.
Do keep in mind to switch covers between your bursts since Maelstrom can easily overwhelm you with multiple projectiles.
