Tools area made from Iron Ores you can mine from an Iron Deposit. Just build a mining pit over an Iron Deposit and a Bloomery next to it to produce Tools. As of Early Access version 0.7.955, Tools serve no function other than a means to get Regional Wealth via Trading.

Build a Mining Pit over an iron deposit, preferably a rich deposit, to maximize the production of iron ores.

Build a Bloomery next to the mining pit to lessen time required to transport the iron ores. Here they will be converted to Iron Slabs and Tools.

What are Tools?

Tools are Construction Materials produced by processing Iron Slabs. As of the Early Access, Tools are mainly used in Trading, granting you 6 Regional Wealth per Tool exported.

Can be Exported for Regional Wealth

If you have a surplus of Iron Slabs early on, you can make a profit by trading Tools, but tools may also serve a different purpose in future updates.
