The Semi-Auto Rifle is the main weapon that you will be using most of the time when it is available. It is recommended that you invest in Stability, since you will be relying on its accuracy, especially on long-range combat. The same goes for the 4x Scope, since your Semi-Auto Rifle shines the most when it is used in long-range combat, and taking out enemies before they can even come close. These upgrades will make your every shot count, so be sure to prioritize them when upgrading the Semi-Auto Rifle.
Upgrading the capacity and the burst fire of the weapon won't help as much, since it already has a high ammo capacity and decent fire rate by default. You will rarely find yourself in situations where you have to reload while getting overwhelmed by enemies, so save these upgrades for last.
Similar to the Bolt-Action Rifle, the Semi-Auto Rifle is a high damaging long-range rifle, but with a better fire rate and a higher ammo capacity. It works well in mid to long-range combat, and can one-shot most enemies if you aim for the head. The Semi-Auto Rifle works well on any type of enemy, both infected and human because of its high damage and amazing fire rate. The only downside of this weapon is its loud firing sound.
The loud firing sound of your shots can give away your position, so use it on situations where you have a clear view of the incoming enemies. This way you can pick them off before they can even get close enough to attack you.
The semi-auto rifle is obtained automatically in Seattle Day 1 - The Stadium. Once you reach this point in the story, you are guaranteed to pick up the weapon.

I’m more of a stealth player so I didn’t enjoy the boss fight in the hospital. One touch and you’re dead, that’s not enjoyable or realistic. Might as well run outside and kick a bear. I’d get the same thing happen, dead. Too much story in this game as well, I feel like it’s hours of videos that takes away from the game play. Just give me the details and move it along. I don’t need to know who’s screwing who.
