Ingredients are items that can be used for crafting tools in The Last of Us Part II. Read on to learn more about ingredients and how to use them.

What are Ingredients?

Ingredients are items that are scattered throughout the game. These ingredients are mainly used for Crafting different tools that can help you in combat.

If you already played The Last of Us 1, you already know the basics of Crafting and the importance of ingredients. Being able to craft things like bombs, health kits, and ammunition is extremely useful, so you'll want to try and pick them up as you find them!

How to Use Ingredients

The following items are the different ingredients that you can pick up throughout the game:

Explosive Binding Blade

Crafting Items

You can use these Ingredients through Crafting. You access the Crafting menu by pressing on the Touchpad, which will display a list of the different recipes that you can Craft with the ingredients you have.

Health KitHealth Kit Alcohol Rag - Restores a moderate amount of health. Hold R2 to use.
MolotovMolotov Alcohol Rag - Explodes on impact, and fire lingers in the area.
Stun BombStun Bomb Canister Explosive - Stuns enemies in a small area on impact.
Melee UpgradeMelee Upgrade Binding Blade Melee Weapon Restores melee weapon to full durability and increases its damage. Requires a melee weapon.
SilencerSilencer Rag Canister - Silences the pistol. Breaks after 3 shots.
Trap MineTrap Mine Canister Explosive - Deploys in place and and detonates on enemy proximity.
Arrows x2Arrows x2 Binding Blade - Standard ammo for the bow. Silently kills enemies. Crafts 2 arrows.
Explosive ArrowExplosive Arrow Explosive Binding - Detonates on impact dealing massive damage in a large blast radius.
Pipe Bombs x2Pipe Bombs x2 Alcohol Canister Explosive Bounce on impact and explodes after a short delay. Crafts 2 bombs.
Shivs x2Shivs x2 Binding Blade - Instantly kills enemies from stealth and saves from clicker grabs. Crafts 2 shivs that break on use.
Hunting Pistol Ammo x2Hunting Pistol Ammo x2 Explosive Blade - Standard ammo for the Hunting Pistol. Deals heavy damage with high accuracy. Crafts 2 bullets.
Incendiary ShellsIncendiary Shells Alcohol Explosive - Special ammo for the shotgun. Sets targets ablaze in a large area. Crafts 2 shells.

Ingredients can be found anywhere in the game. Be sure to explore and check every corner of all the areas if possible, especially on places where there are drawers or cabinets that you can open.

If you turn on High Contrast Mode from the accesibility settings (or by swiping left on the touchpad), you will be able to easily spot anything in the area that can be interacted with, allowing you to easily find and pick up any ingredients that are lying around.

Enhanced Listen Mode

If you are having a hard time locating the ingredients in the area, you can turn on Enhanced Listen Mode in the Options menu. This will allow you to scan and pinpoint the exact location of nearby items and even enemies.
