Last of Us 2 features many generators that need to be powered in order to progress. This guide will help you learn how to use and how to turn on the generators that you will come across.

Some areas in the game require you to turn on a generator to progress the story. Interacting with these generators will prompt a very brief mini-game like section that requires you to perfectly time your button press in order to make it work.

A small circle with a white dot will pop-up upon interacting with the generator. Press the triangle button whenever the white dot is on the triangle icon to gradually fill up the bar until the generator turns on. Pressing with a wrong timing shuts down the generator, forcing you to start all over again.
