Prioritize Critical Hit Skills and Max HP

This weapon primarily focuses on crit skills, so prioritize raising skills that will boost Crit Rate as well as Crit Hit Damage. Get all of the Max HP skills as well, as they will increase the Low HP range, and make it easier to get crit its. Lastly, pick up the Reprieve and Limit Break Boost skills. If you have extra SP to spare, get the physical and magic defense skills as well.

Get the AP Up Weapon Upgrade First

As leveling up your Materia with AP is highly necessary in the INTERmission DLC, you'll want to unlock the AP Up upgrade first to ensure you are getting as much AP as possible on all Materia throughout the game. This upgrade increases the AP yield for all Materia equipped by both Yuffie and Sonon, so it's one of the best ways to farm AP available in the DLC.
