This is a guide to the Chapter 9 Discovery Quest: Vagabond Johnny in Final Fantasy 7 Remake (FF7R). This guide will walk you through how to unlock this quest, where to find Johnny, as well as whether or not you should Agree with Johnny when given the choice to select Yeah or No.

Chapter 9: The Town That Never Sleeps Story Guide & Walkthrough

While there are no rewards for completing this event per se, it must be completed in order to obtain the Trophy 'The Johnny Experience'. If you are on the FF7R Trophy hunt, you'll definitely want to clear this event, then complete Johnny's Stolen Wallet in Chapter 14 as well.
Chapter 9 has two different side quest routes, one with Madam M, and one with Sam. The Vagabond Johnny discovery will also affect which Side Quest route you go on.

By selecting the option Yeah., you will have a higher chance of gaining Sam's side quests, which start with The Party Never Stops, while answering No. or simply avoiding this quest will give no points toward either route (either option is preferred if you want to go on the Madam M route, which starts with The Price of Thievery.)
