SR and R rarity units in Gundam UC Engage often get overshadowed by their higher-rarity counterparts, but some of these are actually better than a good number of UR rarity units. Read on to learn about the game's best SR and R units, why they're effective, and which pilots you should be using alongside them.

SR rarity units are the game's mid-range units. While the majority of them aren't even worth a look, some stand out as decent picks that can do fairly well, especially if you don't have the game's top UR MSs.
For most of Gundam UCE's game modes, you probably won't be using these units, especially if you already have a decent all-UR team that works for you. However, some game modes such as Master Battle and certain events require you to use SR rarity mobile suits to complete a mission.

The SR Solari Zaku has cemented itself in the community as one of, if not the best DPS mobile suit in the game outside of UR units. Unlike many lower-rarity mobile suits, the Solari Zaku comes equipped with 3 weapons with decent damage scalings. Its EX skill deals two instances of damage worth 501% of its ATK, while granting it a 27% guard rate buff for 20 seconds. On the other hand, it has other skills such as EX gauge restoration, EX gauge recovery, and another guard rate buff as well.
All these contribute to the Solari Zaku being a good DPS threat with EX skill-looping capabilities and a respectable defense as well.

The Z'Gok E is a little bit more niche than the Solari Zaku, but its damage potential is much higher than the Zaku. The Z'Gok E, like its anime counterpart, is an amphibious MS that'll do well in Land maps and becomes even more dangerous in Underwater maps. It has an ✖
terrain disadvantage when in Space maps though, and suffers from self-inflicted debuffs when out in Space.
This MS's mix of projectile and proximity damage buffs, paired with its 200,000 damage cap increase makes it deal significant amounts of damage. Its EX skill further increases proximity damage for 20 seconds on top of the damage it is already dealing. It can also cast its EX skill consistently fast thanks to its ability to restore part of its EX gauge each time it deals damage. It also has 3 weapons that each deal projectile damage. Two of these are strong melee weapons.
In Underwater maps, this MS benefits from 99% increased movement speed, which gives it sticking power to continue landing melee hits, wasting less time traveling to and from opponents.

The Assault Marasai is a Generic category SR-rarity MS with 3 weapons, one for melee, one for mid-range, and one for long distances. The medium and close-range weapons have SSS- power ratings, while its far-range weapon comes with an SSS power rating.
Its EX skill increases all allied Red-type units' beam damage by 18%, including itself, while benefiting from 2 separate ranged damage buffs that add up to a maximum of 59%. Its kit is rather straightforward, but it is quite effective for an SR-rarity MS. Its simplicity makes it somewhat worse than the two units we've discussed above.

The Zock is a Red-type Armored MS that's able to constantly heal back 21% of its max HP every 5 seconds with its EX skill. This lasts for 20 seconds, but is often retriggered before the 20 seconds are up if it continues soaking up damage.
To go along with those heals are some beam and projectile damage resistance buffs that stack with each time it takes damage. The Zock is useful for situations where you need to use a lower-rarity tank that's still reliable, or if you simply need a Red tank and don't have something like the Penelope. Just don't expect it to deal any damage whatsoever as it is terrible offensively.

The Gundam Delta Ans is a Purple-type Sniper unit. Just like most other backline units, this MS benefits from damage and accuracy buffs that are only active while it's healthy.
When using this MS, make sure to keep it protected, as you'll want it at 100% HP at all times if you want it performing well.

The SR version of the Kampfer High Mobility Type is a Sniper as opposed to the Raid category its UR version comes with. Just like its UR counterpart, it is quite fast in the battlefield thanks to movement speed buffs, and deals increased damage to Gundam-Type units as well. However, that's where the similarities stop.
The Kampfer High Mobility Type is a Sniper unit, and it comes with some pretty good long-range weaponry. A trend you'll notice among the MSs listed in this article is that most of them have 3 weapons, and all the DPS units here have at least decent weapon rotations.
It comes equipped with a single-target EX skill with good damage that significantly increases ranged damage, all while dealing another instance of damage if it's a Gundam-Type. This can be cast early thanks to an EX gauge restoration buff from its Skill 1. As for its other skills, it's the typical set of conditional ranged damage and accuracy buffs that stay active when at or above certain HP thresholds, along with 36% buffs to both movement speed and evasion. It can somewhat kite around and evade attacks, but all these come at the expense of a self-inflicted 50% DEF debuff. All that said, make sure to keep this MS protected for maximum damage output.

The GM (GR) is an exceptional healer that outperforms a majority of the UR healers in the game. Its effectiveness as a healer made it a staple in PvE teams, especially since it's an R-rarity unit that's very cheap to invest in and easy to find copies of. You could max its ability to charge its EX gauge with Unit Enhancement, and it won't cost too much since it costs way less to upgrade R-rarity units compared to UR ones. It performs even better when you pair it with a pilot like Yuu Kajima who grants EX gauge recovery buffs to it.
What makes it so good is that its EX skill heals all allies for 11% of their max HP. It's able to use its EX skill quite consistently thanks to a 28% EX gauge recovery buff, on top of the Unit Enhancements we've discussed above. Another thing worth mentioning is its good weapon rotation of three weapons, each with decent power ratings too.
Overall, the GM (GR) is probably the best R-rarity MS in the game thanks to its usefulness as both a healer and an R-rarity DPS unit should you need one. Keep in mind that its heal affects the GM (GR) itself too, so it's capable of sustaining itself in battle.

The R Solari Zaku, just like its SR-rarity counterpart, is a powerful DPS mobile suit with 3 weapons. Its kit is rather straightforward, with an EX skill that deals damage and an 11% projectile damage buff. However, once its HP falls below 50% HP, it grants its allies beam and projectile damage buffs worth11% while also healing the entire team for 11% of their max HP, similar to something like the Magna Martell (Awaken).
Its weapons 1 and 2 have SS power ratings while its third weapon has an SSS+ power rating. When paired with a powerful pilot, this MS can definitely dish out some game-winning damage, though that's limited to just PvE of course. You'll also have to spend some resources to get this MS as strong as possible, though again, that won't cost you much at all.

The Dom is an Armored unit that admittedly doesn't do a very good job at tanking, but is useful for something else. Its EX skill inflicts Unavoidable on a targeted enemy for 15 seconds, which is an extremely long time in Gundam UCE battles. This is especially useful against enemy mobile suits with high evasion or Absolute Evade, and you don't have the meta units to inflict Unavoidable.
One cool thing about the Dom is that its Unavoidable debuff duration of 15 seconds is far longer than those of other Unavoidable debuffers, which typically last around 6-8 seconds only at full Potential Lv. That said, you could use this MS on your team to clear PvE content against hyper-evasive units.
