The-O is a Green-type Armored mobile suit with high amounts of evasion, a heal on evade mechanic, and a 25% max HP buff common to many tanks. Units without much accuracy will just keep healing The-O, as well as charge its EX gauge given that this MS also restores 6% of its EX gauge each time it evades attacks.

Speaking of its EX skill, it deals a big 1385% ATK to one targeted opponent, but if this MS is inflicted with the Unavoidable debuff, it'll deal an additional 701% of its ATK. While it benefits The-O to be allied with other units who can inflict Unavoidable for it, it doesn't necessarily need it since it can apply it on opponents by itself when using its EX skill.

Without the right tools and team composition to fight it, The-O is one of the trickiest mobile suits to beat, capable of taking over matches if it gets going. Like with many of the other top mobile suits, The-O has weaknesses and counters that you can abuse to consistently beat this powerful and very popular Arena unit.

The-O Weaknesses

Overreliance On Evade

The-O thrives when constantly dodging attacks since it'll heal and charge its EX gauge each time it evades. Inversely, in cases where it doesn't get to dodge attacks, it won't be able to heal or spam its EX skill. All its defensive skills rely on evading, and it doesn't have any defense or resistances built in, nor does its signature pilot grant any. This means that attacks that manage to go through will hurt, and it'll need to evade if it wants to heal back any damage.

Use mobile suits with high accuracy, the Bullseye buff, or the ability to inflict Unavoidable so you can make quick work of The-O. Avoid using units with no accuracy buffs as The-O will be able to evade their attacks and become even harder to deal with.

Plenty Of Ways To Deal With Evade

Sadly for evasion units, evading is one of the worst forms of defense in Gundam UC Engage given that there are many ways to counter it. Like we said earlier, high accuracy, the Bullseye buff, the Unavoidable debuff, and simply debuffing one's evasion (like how the Qubeley does it) can all counter high evasion units. Having high evasion also does not save that unit from EX Skills, as they cannot be avoided.

It's still better than nothing though, and is still extremely tough to go against if you have no units with Accuracy buffs or the Bullseye buff.

DPS units with accuracy buffs are a nightmare for The-O to deal with. The Banshee Norn and the GP04 in particular are well-known The-O counters, and will definitely give it trouble if you field it in against one.

Units that can inflict Unavoidable can prevent The-O from healing and charging its EX gauge. Unavoidable is more useful in this case than something like high accuracy or Bullseye, since it prevents everyone from missing and not just 1 unit, completely cutting off its source of healing and rapid EX gauge regeneration.

The same reasoning as to why Unavoidable is good, Bullseye prevents evasion from working unless absolute evade is involved, which The-O doesn't have. That said, these units above won't be charging The-O's EX gauge, nor will they trigger its heal given that they won't miss when their Bullseye status is active.

The Xi Gundam, however, only has Bullseye when it's using its EX Skill, so you might want to make it target other mobile suits on the enemy's team first so that once its EX skill is ready to use, you can use it on The-O.

The same could be said for high-accuracy units, though Bullseye will always be better since high-accuracy units can still miss.
