This page lists all items you can register in the Hyrule Compendium in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (BotW). Learn how to unlock and complete the Hyrule Compendium and see the list of Hyrule's Creatures, Monsters, Materials, Equipment, Treasures, and their locations.

The Hyrule Compendium is a feature of the Sheikah Slate which allows you to view useful information about things you encounter in Hyrule including Creatures, Enemies, Materials, Weapons, Shields, and Treasures.
After upgrading to Sheikah Sensor+ via the Slated for Upgrades side quest, you can use it to help you track an item registered in the Compendium. This is useful when you are looking for Treasure Chests, or for farming Ingredients.
To unlock the Hyrule Compendium, you must first complete the Locked Mementos quest from Impa in Kakariko Village. Completing the quest will reward you the Camera rune, the final rune in the Sheikah Slate, unlocking the album and the Hyrule Compendium along with it.
Once you encounter a new creature, monster, or item, use the Camera Rune in your Sheikah Slate to take a photo of the subject. This will register the subject to the Compendium, allowing you to view information such as uses and locations.
Hold the up arrow (↑) on the D-Pad, and select the Camera rune. Press L to equip the Camera, and snap away!

If you point the camera to an item, you can see its name as well as if you have already registered it or not.
The camera target will turn orange if it is not yet registered to the Compendium, and blue if you already have it.
After finishing the Sunshroom Sensing side quest, you can also purchase pictures from Symin at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to add to the Compendium. Each photo is worth 100 Rupees, and you can purchase one or multiple images of each category depending on his stock.
Additionally, once you have defeated Calamity Ganon, he will start selling Elite Enemy Pictures for 500 Rupees.
Once you complete the Hyrule Compendium, talk to Symin at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to receive a Classified Envelope as a reward from him. While you will not be able to open the envelope to see the image for yourself, it appears to contain a photo of a young Sheikah girl.
