The largest monster to make its home in Hyrule, the hinox lives primarily in forested areas. A keen awareness of your surroundings is paramount when facing one, as Hinox are known for tearing entire trees from the ground and using them as weapons. A deft hand can steal weapons off the necklaces they wear. |

The Hinox's single eye is its weakpoint. Shooting it not only deals a lot of damage, it also stuns the giant - causing it fall down and recoil in pain for a few seconds. Link can shoot arrows, throw weapons, or even use the Master Sword's Sword Beam to hit the eye.
Once the Hinox is stunned, run up to the giant and pummel it with your strongest weapons!
Once the Hinox's health goes down a certain level, it will start shielding its eye with one of its hands.
When this happens, use the Upgraded Stasis Rune to freeze the Hinox in place and shoot its eye. When the effect wears off, the Hinox will fall down and recoil in pain, allowing you to hit it with your weapons again.
Some Hinox wear a makeshift armor on one of their legs made of wood. This blocks all of Link's attacks, but can be set on fire!
Setting a Hinox's wooden leg causes it to flail around in an attempt to put out the fire. Use this opportunity to shoot its eye and stun it. It's best to set the wooden leg on fire when the Hinox is starting to cover its eye so you can finish the lumbering giant quickly.
Stronger Hinox variants wear metallic leg armor instead. These cannot be burned but are susceptible to electric attacks! Striking the leg armor with a Thunderblade or shooting it with a Shock Arrow stuns the Hinox, giving you enough time to shoot its eye!
