Igneo Talus Tips and Strategies

Freeze its Body

Freeze its Body (BotW) - Igneo Talus
Freeze Igneo Talus's body to avoid getting damaged over time by its fire. You can extinguish the fire by hitting its body with an Ice Arrow or Ice Weapon, such as a Frostblade. A successful hit with an Ice Arrow or Ice Weapon will also stun it for 2-3 seconds. Take that opportunity to climb its body and continuously attack the ore.

Aim for the Ore!

Aim for the Ore (BotW) - Igneo Talus
Exploit the Igneo Talus's weak point, which is the ore deposit on top of its body. Use a Bow and target its ore to stun it for 2-3 seconds. Take that chance to freeze its body and attack the ore.

Charged Attack (BotW) - Igneo Talus
We recommend equipping a Hammer weapon, and then using a charged attack on the ore to deal more damage against it. If you already have Urbosa's Fury, it can be charged to inflict more damage to the Igneo Talus.

Watch out for the Smash Attack

Smash Attack (BotW) - Igneo Talus
After it finishes recovering from your freezing attacks, it will smash the ground to make its body on fire again. The smash attack has a wide area of effect, be sure to get away from Igneo Talus once he recovers!

Beware of the Stone it Throws

Stone Attack (BotW) - Igneo Talus
Igneo Talus has a ranged attackーthrowing its stone arms at Link. This attack covers a very wide range, so be sure to sprint to your left or right to evade the attack.

Climb its Body (BotW) - Igneo Talus
After losing its arms, it will stop and recover them. It will give you a small window to climb its body and wither down its HP. Make sure to climb from its back to prevent yourself from getting hurt as he gets a new pair of arms.

Remote Bombs

Remote Bombs (BotW) - Igneo Talus
Alternatively, you can use Remote Bombs to destroy its arms. These are especially useful if you want to save your arrows for an easy stun.

Parrying is not an Option

Parrying is not an Option (BotW) - Igneo Talus
It is not recommended to parry the stones as they can still hurt Link. Even if the parry is perfect, the debris from the stone can still hit and damage Link. We highly suggest that you evade the attack and wait for an opportunity to attack back.
