You can use amiibos anytime once you have completed the Oman Au Shrine. These amiibos can be scanned once per day.
Objectives | Guide | |
---|---|---|
1 | Press the + Buttom to Open the Menu |
Press the + Button to open the menu, then press the R-Button to access the System Menu. |
2 | Go to the Options Menu and select Use amiibo |
On the Options Menu, click Don't use amiibo and change it to Use amiibo. |
3 | Press the Up-Button to access rune abilities |
While in-game, press the Up-Button to access the rune abilities. The amiibo rune can be found by scrolling through the right. |
4 | Press the L-Button to activate the amiibo rune |
A glowing circle will appear indicating where to place the amiibo. Tap the Amiibo on the right Joy-Con controller to scan it. This summons a treasure chest containing random items inside. Tip: If you are using a Pro Controller, you can hold the amiibo over the NFC Touchpoint. |
Despite the fact that many Amiibo have exclusive equipment drops like weapons and armor, the things you get from each Amiibo's treasure chest are completely random, and there is no way to increase the drop rate.
If you have scanned a single Amiibo repeatedly and still have not found the equipment you are looking for, chances are that you have not progressed far enough in the game to unlock the Amiibo's loot pool. The game uses two conditions to determine the amiibo's loot pool: whether or not you have obtained the Paraglider and if you have freed one Divine Beast.
Some exclusive Amiibo weapons such as the Biggoron's Sword, Twilight Bow, and Fierce Deity Sword will only drop once you have freed one Divine Beast in your save file.
If you find that you cannot obtain any of these weapons, make sure to progress through the game and free at least one Divine Beast in order to unlock them when you use an Amiibo.
Each Amiibo can only be scanned once per day, so you will need to change your Switch's system time to keep farming for the Amiibo equipment.
If you plan to scan repeatedly to farm Amiibo equipment, you should first save the game, so you can quickly reload if you don't get the equipment you wanted.
Scanning this amiibo for the first time summons Epona, Link's trusty horse from the previous Zelda games. Note that Epona is considered as a wild horse, so be sure to scan the amiibo near a stable in order to register and keep her.
Along with Epona, there is a chance to obtain pieces of the Hero of Twilight Set.
You can also use the Super Smash Bros. Link amiibo to get the same items.
How to Get the Hero of Twilight Set
The Majora's Mask Link amiibo gives you a chance to obtain pieces of the Fierce Deity Set. This set has the same stats as the Barbarian Set, making it one of the best armors in the game.
How to Get the Fierce Deity Set
While this amiibo does not give you any unique equipment, it drops Ancient Arrows making it a viable option for farming the said arrows. The amiibo also drops Guardian Weapons, Guardian Shields, and Ancient Cores.
Scanning this amiibo summons Wolf Link as a companion that can accompany you on your journey. He can fight enemies, scavenge for items, and search for nearby shrines.
Wolf Link has three hearts by default. This can be increased by completing and saving your progress in the Cave of Shadows in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.
Unlike the other amiibos, Wolf Link can be summoned multiple times a day as long as he has hearts remaining. If he is defeated, he can be resummoned again the next day.
