Time Blocks for the Bob-ombs

Super Mario RPG Remake - Block Leveled-Up Punchinello

Leveled-Up Punchinello's has Bob-ombs are stronger this time around, and are capable of taking down one of your party members with a single explosion.

It's best to do timed blocks with Action Commands to reduce the damage received. Try pressing the button as soon as the Bob-omb starts running (when the ! appears).

How to Block Attacks

Redirect Bob-ombs to Punchinello

Super Mario RPG Remake - Re-direct Bob-ombs to Punchinello

Fighting Leveled-Up Punchinello is an endurance test, since you will want to focus on blocking the Bob-ombs.

Leveled-Up Punchinello is highly resistant to your attacks, so the Bob-ombs are your only bet in damaging him. Redirect the Bob-ombs to Punchinello by using normal attacks on them one by one. Take advantage of the extra damage from your attacks by timing Action Commands!

If they are facing Punchinello on the turn they prime for an explosion, they will deal 80 damage to him.

Bob-ombs facing your side will attack any one of your party members. Make sure to block at the right time to reduce the damage of the explosions!

Use Sleepy Time if Needed

Super Mario RPG Remake - Use Sleepy Time on Bob-ombs

Special Move Effect
Sleepy Time
(Peach)
・Rotate left stick to have the attack affect all enemies.

If timing blocks with the Bob-ombs prove difficult to do, it is recommended to use Sleepy Time to keep them from attacking temporarily.

You can take advantage of the time that they are asleep to redirect them towards Leveled-Up Punchinello with normal attacks!

Best Special Moves for Each Character

Watch Out for Flame Wall

Super Mario RPG Remake - Punchinello Flame Wall

One special to watch out for other than Leveled-Up Punchinello's Bob-ombs is his unblockable Flame Wall attack that deals fire damage to your whole party.

While this attack does not do enough damage to immediately defeat a whole party, it can be a nuisance when you're dealing with several enemies in the fight. Make sure to heal up or revive when needed.

Peach with her special moves Group Hug and Come Back will be extremely helpful in this fight, since you may find yourself needing to recover and revive your members regularly.
