The Hidden Treasure Chest in the Mushroom Kingdom Castle is no longer missable as it was in the original game, and can be found by jumping onto Toad's head to a hidden ledge in Super Mario RPG Remake. After entering the castle gates, Toad will talk with you. As soon as the conversation ends, jump on top of Toad and then onto the door before he enters.
Once you're on top of the door, jump to reveal the hidden chest. Jumping again will open the chest and you'll receive the contents of the chest.
If you miss the chance to jump on Toad's head to reach the Hidden Treasure Chest, it will not be available again until after defeating Claymorton and getting the 1st Star Piece. Afterwards, when you return, there will be a Toad walking around the room close to the door. Jump on his head when he gets close to the door to reach the Hidden Treasure Chest.
This hidden treasure is no longer missable in the remake. In the original game, failing to jump on Toad the first time will make it impossible to reach the top of the door, causing you to permanently miss the hidden chest.
This hidden chest in the Mushroom Castle contains one Frog Coin. There is a method for getting an infinite number of Frog Coins after reaching the middle part of the game, so it's okay if you miss this one!
