Attack Using Mallow's Thunderbolt

Super Mario RPG Remake - Claymorton Stunned by Lightning

Special Move Effect
Thunderbolt
(Mallow)
・Press the button just before the bolt ends for increased damage!

Claymorton is weak to Thunder, so it is best to use Mallow's Thunderbolt in this fight. Sucessfully hitting him with it will cause him to be stunned temporarily.

Thunderbolt targets every enemy on the field, so it is ideal to use it also when his Shymores are present!

Best Special Moves for Each Character

Have Mario Use Items for Recovery

Super Mario RPG Remake - Have Mario Use Recovery Items

Since Mallow will be focused on attacking Claymorton and his Shymores, it is best to have Mario provide recovery to the party's HP and FP through items.

Whenever available, feel free to have Mario use normal attacks on Claymorton!

Defeat Claymorton's Shymores Whenever He Retreats

Super Mario RPG Remake - Defeat Claymorton

Claymorton will be accompanied by 4 Shymores at the start of battle, and will leave the fight temporarily if he takes enough damage. It is best to deal damage to Claymorton first up until he retreats, and then defeat the Shymores on the field to force him to return.

All of the Shymores can be defeated in one hit with Mallow's Thunderbolt if he is not underleveled. Claymorton's Shymores will reappear periodically. Repeat the process of defeating them to keep Claymorton within the battlefield!
